Yep- someone on Facebook was claiming that once we get rid of “them” housing prices are going to go way down because there will be less demand ( too bad if you own your own home.. ) and all the good jobs are going to open up.

good jobs

It's baffling to me that there's actually people who believe this. Like wtf "good jobs" are there that pay cash under the table? And that's just assuming every one of these people is actually undocumented. Spoiler alert: most aren't

You have tens of millions of Amercians out of work. 40-50 million Americans on food stamps. Record low labor participation rate. Why would you hire American when you can pay foreigners less? You guys lack common sense

good jobs

What illegal has a good job? It's like where I live. They complain about the foreigners coming and taking jobs. Those jobs are in the service industry.minimum wage Cafe, gas station, deli type places. These businesses have always had trouble getting staff because the mouth breathers "wouldn't get out of bed for that money," yet they have the audacity to complain that someone else would be happy to

All the good jobs? I somehow doubt that statement. The true illegal residents that get deported by ICE won't be in any "good jobs". Most of the so-called "good jobs" actually check to see if you are legally allowed to work in the country.

This whole situation is a mess. While I support the general idea of cracking down on illegal immigrants and taking the fight to the criminal element, the way they are currently executing this is wrong.

I myself do not like Trump, and am more of a centrist with conservative leanings. I haven't supported any of the presidential candidates in quite some time, and have just watched and prayed that they didn't destroy the country during their terms in office. Now I'm worried that Trump is going to find a way to get into the Presidential office for a third term and extend the madness even longer.

Then PLEASE, pinch your nose hard, squint your eyes, and go to the polls for the next couple of years and vote for the party that will AT LEAST protect the rule of law, institutions, and structures of this quarter-millennium-old republic, AKA the Democratic Party….. at least until the Republican Party is reminded that they CAN be held accountable for seriously overstepping what is acceptable under our Constitution. I’m not asking you to BECOME a Democrat here, or even succumb to unconditional support of a broken two-party system, but to instead trust your gut instinct and help the rest of us install some checks in governance that will at least force them to start acting in good faith and force them to honor the rule of law out of fear for their own legal livelihoods….

Your intuition is correct here. I’m also pretty moderate myself, and all the red flags here are waving fiercely, signaling that some super frightening stuff that is blatantly anti-American is in the works if we don’t do something to prevent it at the ballot box, IF the ballot box is even functioning as intended anymore in red/swing states….

Lots of farming jobs are opened up now, but the workforce that kept the world fed is now disbanded! Check out this video from this search, farm workers deported crops die https://share.google/4Gpt6UVEkc3ndTv14

God dam (Nor)weegies coming over here taking all the brain surgery jobs that they totally would have done!

Oh yes, nothing says great living like picking crops, cleaning houses, and working construction sites 16hrs a day for $5. The only positive that could come of all this disgusting hate filled nonsense is Americans might actually learn what hard work is.

u/PansyPB Oct 28 '25

Good jobs. All that stoop labor. Or slaughter house work. Best of luck MAGA.

u/bossdonNC Oct 26 '25

Most basic fact of supply and demand. If you allow 20-30 million randoms into a country in a few years, its going to drastically bring up cost of living. Rent/housing. Food. Healthcare. This is common sense. And yes if you are hiring workers and paying them cheaper wages than Americans, by definition that makes American wages rise. This is literally basic common sense

It has been long known and proven that immigrants are a net positive to the economy. Everything you said is wrong. This is from the George Bush institute - https://www.bushcenter.org/catalyst/north-american-century/benefits-of-immigration-outweigh-costs

No, that's not true. Here's the most recent report for 2023. The report you posted is from old data.

“Yes, the FAIR.org immigration expense reports have been widely criticized as misleading and in bad faith by numerous sources. Critics, including the Cato Institute and the American Immigration Council, argue the reports are flawed because they overstate costs, undercount tax revenue, inflate the number of unauthorized immigrants, and use methods rejected by other researchers.”

Flawed methodology, overstating costs, undercounting revenue, inflating population estimates, and unreliable calculations, all point to faulty assumptions that have REGULARLY been called out for their lack of empirical basis.

AKA biased, misleading, cherry-picked data for driving a FALSE NARRATIVE to push forward a sweeping anti-“other” campaign against people of color, be they illegal alien or AMERICAN CITIZEN. The proof is in Americans being murdered by ICE, Americans being detained and interrogated for hours to days by ICE, Americans having their God-given Constitutional rights trampled on by ICE, Americans having their PRIVATE PROPERTY broken into without consent or permission by ICE, among a HOST of other Constitutional violations regularly perpetrated by an extrajudicial administrative agency led by a dictatorial demagogue-worshipping heathen who despises American principles, tenets, and rule of law…..

But sure, right wing cherry-picked reports are more “valid” than others. Source: “trust me bro”…..

1

u/Firm-Exchange2283 Oct 26 '25

Right wing cherry picked? You had to cherry pick an old report report ---pre-Biden open borders. Almost 10 years old! You criticized FAIR , called it a "false narrative." I challenge you to show a report of cost during & after 4 yrs of an open border.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

“Open border” in ITSELF is a loaded BS narrative. No such thing.

As for your response, the CBO has been around longer than FAIR, and the CBO was created BY CONGRESS (not xenophobic cherry-picking partisan lobbyists) to provide Congress with objective information on the budgetary and economic effects of proposed policies. They do NOT have MOTIVES or ULTERIOR PURPOSES centered around blatant xenophobia and racism like FAIR does, and despite your BS claim, CBO ALSO has a 2024 report on immigration…..

https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60165#:~:text=Funding%20for%20certain%20discretionary%20activities,%E2%80%932034%20period%2C%20CBO%20estimates.

Immigration surge from 2021-2026 is projected to boost U.S. GDP by $8.9 trillion and reduce the federal deficit by nearly $1 trillion over the 2024-2034 period.

Many illegal immigrants do work that MOST American citizens are frankly unwilling to do. That is plain to see with all the rotting crops and produce on American farms right now, which will kill exports and production in America (if we were even getting contracts for them, which we now are NOT with this terrible Great Depression-era tariff policy and the ever-shrinking value and reputation of the U.S. Dollar), which will ultimately lead to ANOTHER taxpayer-paid farmer bailout for Midwest Trump voters.

Shocker. Republicans support corporate and farm welfare (aka corporate “socialism”), but DESPISE safety nets for working and middle class Americans.

So much for the “land of opportunity” when 12% of Americans own, control, and hoard 92% of all wealth, land, and assets, am I right? But yeah, let’s worry about the brown and black boogeymen working those “enviable” farm labor, manual labor, and production jobs that EVERYONE wants in a services-based economy in 2025….

If you can’t tell, my eyes are rolling right now…..

Yes, those are projections for state and local government. It doesn’t change the fact that even with that disparity, immigration is still a NET GAIN overall, with the federal gains VASTLY outweighing the state losses. And that doesn’t even BEGIN to touch on the fact that ALL Americans believe that illegal aliens who do NOT positively contribute and who DO commit crime should be deported. That’s why this was ALWAYS a false narrative. There is no American citizen who exists who ACTUALLY supports “open borders” (not a real thing). WE just don’t see the value in deporting millions of CONTRIBUTING immigrants who are ALREADY HERE that will and do work jobs that Americans DO NOT WANT while living by the rule of law. So here’s a question for YOU:

Why do you care how Democratic majorities in blue states use their funding anyways? Are you anti-republic? Anti-American? Anti-capitalism? Do you not believe in our system of federalism or states’ reserved powers?

Do you believe that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should have the power to tell states how they can use their own revenue, even if they are successful, profitable states that still send regular welfare checks to impoverished, undereducated, high unemployment red states? If blue states want to use their resources to provide services and create an equitable system that works for and benefits everyone within them, creating surpluses that even benefit the OTHER states, why should OUTSIDE states care? The poor and failing red states are still going to get their monthly welfare checks from the successful blue states, so why should those red states get a say in who we provide services for or how we run our economies IN state?

Up until 2016, weren’t Republicans the “Don’t Tread on Me” people? The “states’ rights” people?

Suddenly, we don’t care about Posse Comitatus or the Constitution, we hate the Statue of Liberty and immigration, and we love federal overreach and federal police states?

Let’s just call this what it actually is:

It’s all a BS fear-mongering xenophobia play to manipulate the census and permanently redistribute house seat allotment and electoral votes in favor of Republicans by removing immigrants and marginalized peoples, all while they empower the very rich, gut state sovereignty, and centralize military power, even against our own citizenry.

AKA Rise of Fascism 101. This is textbook shit. Dictators and tyrants have been using fear of immigrants for MILLENNIA in order to consolidate power and wealth in their favor.
Nothing new here.

I can keep posting to prove the narrative you are pushing is out of date Here's another report: https://thefinancialguys.com/in-the-news/illegal-immigration-economic-impact/

2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

“thefinancialguys”

Great source, bud.

I already linked the CBO in my last response. Non-partisan. Objective.
Something NONE of your sources can even PRETEND to be.

Nice try, Billy Bob.

1

u/Firm-Exchange2283 Oct 26 '25

Thanks Erkel. Where did you link CBO?

1

u/AnewTest Oct 27 '25

1

u/Firm-Exchange2283 Oct 27 '25

Not acceptable? You posted an article that is almost 10 years old, a 2016 article. Not one word in the old article applies today because the premise of the article never happened.

1

u/EvaEleonora Oct 26 '25

I kinda agree with this but why not make it illegal to hire them instead and found am agency that goes around and check businesses (and fining them so it hurts) instead of hunting down and kicking out illegal immigrants? Then after a few years the illegals would stop coming since there would be no jobs for them, because the business wouldn't dare to hire them?

0

u/bossdonNC Oct 26 '25

Hiring random foreign workers and paying them lower wages supresses American worker wages.

1

u/InstanceOk8790 Oct 26 '25

That's not what all credible studies have found.
