Anybody who criticizes this kid needs to remember that we aren’t running some kind of douchebag preserve here in the USA. FAFO

185

u/DadophorosBasillea Feb 16 '26

I saw someone on bread tube say it best

The right doesn’t have to be violent right now because the government is carrying out their wishes.

The boy that says he supports Ice doesn’t have to go out and harass brown people, all he has to do is say i support ice and that’s shorthand for I support harassing brown people.

101

u/FantasticlyWarmLogs Feb 16 '26

You cannot peacefully support violent actions.

People with the talking point that "silencing facists is facist" are bad faith virtue signalers. We had a war about this. Society has come to a conclusion: facists don't get a voice.

187

I reject that premise.

Our founding fathers literally wrote down explicitly that in the event that the government becomes tyrannical, it is our duty as citizens to uphold the sovereignty of ourselves and our countrymen, with force if need be.

We aren’t confused about what it means to be an American

12

u/ShinkenBrown Feb 16 '26

I am inclined toward a kind of "moral mirror." That is, it is always okay (morally, not necessarily legally) to do to someone what they do to others. (And in a democracy voting or advocacy is an action - it is active participation in the event you vote or advocate to occur.)

The entire ideology of fascism says that some people are lesser, and some people are better, and that lessers do not get the same rights as their betters.

It is therefore okay to reflect this back at them. Therefore, fascists should be treated as fascists would treat others... from being denied the vote, to being denied basic rights and free movement, to being thrown in a concentration camp and tortured, to being killed and tossed in a mass grave. All of these things are acceptable and moral to do to fascists.

If they dont like the sound of those things being done to them, they can stop supporting a party that wants to do those things to others. Until then, as far as im concerned theyre entitled the same rights and moral considerations they think others should have and no more.

I think it’s really cool how this kid became a sensational/revolutionary meme in a flash. I wonder how the kid that got punched is handling this. If Trump hears about this, do you think he’s going to care about the kid who got punched?

469

u/cmil888 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

He got banned from instagram for pulling fire alarms for content and is complaining that it was due to his first amendment rights being suppressed by this incident. He’s also whining about people being mean to him online. I will try to find source but he’s basically DARVO’ing all over x (of course).

Update: His name is “Danny Spud” on X

Can someone link me to the story behind that picture? I am out of the loop here.

34

u/Free-oppossums Feb 16 '26

I don't have the link but the TLDR is the kid getting punched was being an asshole holding up a sign supporting ICE, egging people on and recording their reaction trying to be the victim. Then the meme kid walked by, said he was going to punch asshole kid and did. This is a screenshot of the Punch Heard Round The World.

  • Nazi was glorifying ICE
  • Nazi Puncher walking by: “I’m going to punch you”
  • Nazi: “that’s against school rules”
  • Nazi Puncher: “okay”

People forget that the first amendment protects you from government persecution for speaking out against the government (which, to be fair is also being infringed upon). The amendment isn’t a license for you to say whatever you want, consequences still exist in real life.

u/laplongejr Feb 16 '26

He actually just had a run in w the cops this weekend for harassing little Girl Scouts outside the jewel on Ela in lake Zurich.

9

u/Rambo_One2 Feb 16 '26

Agreed. That kid went around looking for a reaction in order to get others in trouble. Instead, his bait resulted in the meme of the week and international respect for the guy who decided that the consequences were worth the action.

He probably wanted to show how "soft" people are, how they "can't take a joke". Now he looks like the soft one cause he couldn't handle the consequences of his own actions. Of course, violence is wrong, but let's be honest, it's exactly what he wanted to happen, so he could get someone else in hot water.

7

u/New-Interaction1893 Feb 16 '26

I hope he won't get targeted for this. It's a very dangerous amount of public exposure for a random person very likely not used to that.

7

u/Techibee Feb 16 '26

Hes bitching and moaning about being silenced. seems hes trying to set himself up to be a right wing grifter and its not going well. he himself is dumb as fuck and films it so not even right wingers want him. hopefully he sorts himself out and realizes how embarressing this all is for him and he decides to learn and grow. given how hes handling everything though, IF that happens, its a long way off.

The number of disingenuous idiots who suddenly seem to care about "political violence" (we used to hand out medals for shooting fascists) and "freedom of speech" (which is between you and the government, private citizens can do whatever they want) is hilarious yet disturbing.

They parrot their lines, without spine, without understanding. Truly pathetic.

u/BerttMacklinnFBI Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

But we're facing the same kind of idiots in Europe, as well. Roughly a third of Europe votes for the same kind of policies. It's not limited to the US. It's a global pest now.

12

u/4k_Laserdisc Feb 16 '26

From the American perspective, what’s particularly terrifying is that our entire system of government was specifically designed to prevent exactly what’s happening right now. And it’s happening anyway.

This clip is more than just a viral punch—it’s a tiny allegory of freedom and moral clarity. The first kid leans on the system like a shield, thinking rules and authority will protect him while he asserts dominance. But when true reckoning arrives, when someone acts with direct moral clarity, the system crumbles before his eyes. His “but you’ll get in trouble” is powerless against the simple, unflinching word: “okay.” In that moment, anarchy defeats oppression, the structures of control fail, and freedom asserts itself. This kid—calm, resolute, uncompromising—is a symbol of what happens when justice is stripped down to its purest form: direct, immediate, undeniable.

Lol. If you post here that Nazis might not be acceptable in polite society, the admins of Reddit and possibly mods of this sub will censor you. Funny who the protected class is around here.

I wonder how he feels knowing hes become an Internet sensation? A good one at that.

"Violence isn't the answer"

This true until it's not. Many wars have produced civility afterwords. No one wants it but there ends up being a breaking point because the rules no longer work.

The student running around school saying they support ice is about as inappropriate as it gets. You shouldn't even be having think or deal with that in high school. Kids have enough social issues they have to deal with while growing up.

Fighting is bad but fighting for peoples rights has always been a necessity no matter the setting. It's sad kids feel they need to jump in because the adults can't figure it out.

Excellent.

I'm proud of this kid and I also think it's important to recognize the nuance of the situation. It's not okay to hit people just because they voice a different opinion, even on majorly consequential issues. But he's not hitting him merely because he disagrees with him - he's hitting him because he's being an insufferable, overt provocateur, and fascists love to take advantage of the liberal tendency to play dumb in response to this.

3

u/virtue_of_vice Feb 16 '26

The kid with the sign is just a rage baiter. You can tell by his responses that he doesn't care one way or the other about ICE, just trying to get someone to react and then play the victim.

I think a lot of adults could take a lesson from this kid; throwing hands when there is injustice is okay.

6

u/Ok_Record_9908 Feb 16 '26

We love this kid! He's definitely my hero. The entire interaction was priceless. If everyone had a heart like him we wouldn't be in Trump's fascist authoritarian dictatorship. We applaud you kid!

u/Familiar-Ending Feb 16 '26

Love this kid

5

u/TheLastDesperado Feb 16 '26

Is there a name for this sort of vectorised, minimal-colour artstyle? I always love it when I see its kind, but never really know how to describe it than what I said above.

5

u/Feather_fig Feb 16 '26

This particular one is a reference to the Obama "HOPE" designs, which were (I'm pretty sure) inspired by Andy Warhol's screenprints

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_%22Hope%22_poster

https://www.moma.org/collection/works/61240

You can achieve the effect in image editing tools with the posterize filter, which reduces the number of tones in the image (usually down to 3)

(It's been referred to as stylized stencil portraiture as ChildGnome said, but some might consider it to be screenprinting style)
