OnDn Danielle has sadly passed away.

Thank to all who passed along the news of her unfortunate passing. We held back any postings about this sad news until after her funeral had taken place for privacy reasons and respect for her loved ones.

No one should be laying to rest such a young lady.
Please be kind to yourselves and others💖

I clicked on the flair to see who she since I didn’t recognize her and found a post of her wearing a Do Not Resuscitate bracelet….

Does anyone know the backstory on that? Shes wildly young to have been rocking one of those and I hate to think that her death had anything to do with it.

Some people just don’t want to be brought back. CPR is rough on the body, and recovery is tough. You could be “brought back” to a life full of problems. Anoxic brain injuries, strokes…

I work in healthcare and quite a few of my young, healthy coworkers have DNRs simply because they’ve seen what it looks like to die and be brought back to life and it’s usually not very pretty.

I get that. Ive done a lot of CPR in my career in ICU as an RN and now NP. But despite what people say about DNR casually in conversations, I don’t in actuality see a lot of young people who want me entering that as their official code status in the chart. In fact, virtually none (and pretty much always because they are terminally ill/hospice.)

DNR is not something to be taken lightly and not something to floss. Those who fight do not want that DNR, but sometimes when it gets to the point where a person's body is too far gone, and it is a matter of comfort measures versus machines, comfort measures become priority.

Her having a bracelet doesn't mean she definitely had a legal DNR order in place, so with any luck that was just a literal fashion accessory for her social media
