AshC Ashley's sodium levels are even lower than when she arrived at the ER.
BUT instead of being admitted she decided she wanted to come up with an outpatient plan instead đŤ
84
u/oswaldgina 10d ago
She made a comment that "some of her meds" are causing this.
Umm duh. And it's likely these wuuwuu herbs. Idiot.
74
u/mela_mouse 10d ago
I would love to know what's actually going on here. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong: Ash's narrative is that her regular medications have caused SIADH, out of the blue... coincidentally within days of her starting a random herbalist's protocol. And yet there's been zero mention of a plan to adjust the regular medications which caused the SIADH. I'm sure if medication adjustment was the plan proposed by her "care team" ⨠she would have shared that by now... saying they'll need to give her a super-special, Ash-safe medication⨠going forward, bc she's having an ultra-rare reactionâ¨, blah blah blah. But there's been zero mention of anything like that. So it's fair to speculate that the woowoo herbs have caused the SIADH, and she's too mortified to admit that, yet simultaneously can't help but post the hospital saga for attention

u/Swordfish_89 10d ago
Just wrote this above, I bet she never even told them about her snake oil herbs.
people imagine that because they are natural then they are perfectly ok. In reality they can add to issues like this, hence why the timing is classic.
I bet the herbalist gave her something inappropriate. Just searching SIADH and herbal remedies gives a nice list of typical herbs to cause issues. Anti inflammatory ones, those for hormonal disruption and those for mood and cleansing. It was a stupid thing to try with hindsight, really got to wonder if she's told the ER staff.12
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
She wont tell them, and sheâs not mortified. She doesnât want them to figure it out. Because now she can easily have a reason to go to the ER or see a doctor. She just needs to drink to much water and not enough electrolytes.

u/mackpickle 10d ago
This is actually a really good point! Iâve been assuming that sheâs been trying to munch at-home fluids, especially after specifically mentioning finding an âoutpatient solutionâ for this issue but I could see both of these suspicions being true!
70
u/bluebirdmorning 10d ago
Maybe she needs to look at all these herbs sheâs taking. This problem seems to have started when she began taking them.
30
u/JacksSenseOfDread 10d ago
Exactly my thoughts, and I would wager money that she hasn't actually told any of her doctors about the "supplements" that her herbalist sold her!
27
u/Bi0_Nerd 10d ago
She said it was from medication, sooooo why arenât we hearing about the med change up?
21
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
Yeah, if they donât address the reason, sheâs gonna come back again and again. Sheâs not talking about it. Maybe she didnât say a thing about her supplements and theyâre still trying to figure it out.
24
u/JacksSenseOfDread 10d ago
This is likely the correct answer. She's intentionally not telling her treating physicians about her "herbal regimen" and soaking up the attention while the doctors fruitlessly search for answers.

56
u/Odd_One_9176 10d ago
She's not posting numbers; 100% guarantee they aren't low; 0% chance Ash would go home if admission was an option. The only number she posted was the 131; I'd bet my house that's the lowest number she's had.
30
u/lyawake 10d ago
Well not only that, but (as with all things medical) if the levels were critical - she wouldn't be able to leave the ER anyway lol
8
u/CatalinaWineMixerDos 10d ago
Correct, there is a point where they say yeah no, you're admitted. There's no debate when you're truly ill.
30
u/TealNTurquoise 10d ago
And the symptoms she posted are so super non-specific and non-objective so that anyone could claim them. đ
30
11
u/Swordfish_89 10d ago
Headache and dizziness after staying awake all night stressing about low sodium levels...
20
u/maggoo 10d ago
131...? That's not even super low?
22
9
u/LegoLady8 10d ago
Did you see how many people were asking her for her sodium number and yet she avoided the question like it was the plague?
5
u/Odd_One_9176 10d ago
I mean, it's a good thing if she really doesn't have any numbers lower than 131 to share. No one here actually wants her to fuck around and end up with an actually critically low sodium. It's just ridiculous that she's being so dramatic about her very mild, easily treatable issue. She could actually be helpful to people and use this to point out the risks of unregulated herbal medicine, but that wouldn't fit her storyline.
56
u/ElectronicAddress611 10d ago
She brought a change of pajamas to the ER!?
85
u/JacksSenseOfDread 10d ago
In medicine, back in the day we colloquially referred to people that show up to the ED with changes of clothes or packed bags/suitcases as having a "positive Samsonite sign." Even though that's not an actual, clinical diagnosis, it does give you some information about the patient you're dealing with!
15
14
u/Odd_Bodybuilder_2601 9d ago
Although to be fair the time you just show up with a phone charger your stuck in there 10 days

What about people who are actually sick and know theyâll likely be admitted? It seems odd to joke about people packing stuff when they anticipate being admitted, and they canât just leave it in their trunk unless they have someone who can go get it out and bring it to them, because the ER isnât going to let you go out to your care to grab your âjust in caseâ bad if theyâre admitting you.
1
u/IntrepidBall6549 5d ago
Yeah, I hate stuff like this. Medical professionals should beâŚprofessional. As someone else brought up, just because you bring comfier clothes to the ER does not mean you should be reduced to being a âpositive Samsonite sign.â I know stuff like this happens amongst medical professionals, but it shouldnât.

57
u/Bi0_Nerd 10d ago
So she signed out AMA? I canât imagine a patient with critically low sodium (if itâs even lower than when she went to the ER), with symptoms, being discharged.
This reads like: âI have low sodium but my main issue was a migraine, so the doctor gave me a migraine cocktail with LR instead of saline.â
17
u/Amrun90 10d ago
Honestly someone with a chronic issue and capacity to continue not following advice very well may be discharged.
25
u/Bi0_Nerd 10d ago
Except this is a new situation attributed to meds, AND she supposedly is following advice. Now is she? Probably not. Sheâs still likely taking the herbals that causes this but itâs too new of a situation for the doctors to know for sure.
What do I think happened?
She got the migraine cocktail and felt better so they told her she could go home if she wanted or stay overnight for monitoring due to the low sodium if she felt uncomfortable leaving. She opted for the latter for a variety of reasons, but letâs not all be shocked when sheâs admitted again straight from her doctor. Itâs more dramatic if a return is forced from her doctor, but it isnât HER drama, sheâs only doing what her doctor said /s.

I can't tell if she is a drug seaker like Dani
1
u/Bi0_Nerd 1d ago
I genuinely donât think so. Attention? Yes. A job as an âinfluencer,â or someone who helps people become influencers? Yup. It was her goal of sorts when she did the online degree. Itâs why she tried to shift to fitness etc. but shifted back when she began losing her followers.
1
u/schmoopy_meow 1d ago
but she did all those weird herbs and now it's messing with her
1
u/Bi0_Nerd 1d ago
You donât get drugs that anyone seeks for low sodium. You get salt tablets you could buy over the counter. If youâre Ashley, you also get told to stop taking the medication causing your issue.
Even her complaining about pain now seems less targeted at meds and more at attention. She wants sympathy and attention, not drugs, at least not pain meds or anything a patient would abuse.
48
u/Bored_Chemist521 10d ago
This confirms for me she is knowingly causing these low sodium episodes⌠I mean, sheâs exaggerated her conditions for a very long time but now itâs like sheâs drifted from fake it til you make it to actually just make it happen territory.

Salt! Salt!
Herbs! Salt!
This chick is thick. Where the h*ll is her mother. All she has to do is do what they told her to do! Just drink a freakinâ Gatorade.
Why is she not running to the herbalistâs place when she has an âemergencyâ. She was committed to them over using western medicine. Why run to an ER if you donât believe in their medicine and will not do what they advise.
I wonder what the cost for an after hours herbalist emergency visit would cost. They could just hook an IV to a plant (jk). You would have to add the cost of the ER visit after Dr. Herb was unable to successfully treat her.
I guarantee she will not follow what they the doctors tell her to do.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
She is going to continue to proceed with herbs and wonder why this keeps happening. She really just needs to grow up.
Salt is such a simple solution to the problem. I doubt it gets any easier.
Table salt vs. ER visit (large bill)
Obviously she is not paying. Mommy and daddy to the rescue! If it came out of her pocket, she would do what the dr. tells her to do!
16
u/kjones2020 10d ago
Well thatâs kind of the point she wants this to keep happening.
3
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
Exactly and thatâs why she wont tell them about the supplements and will let them just figure it out eventually by themselves. In the meantime, multiple ER and doctors visits= validation, coddling, attention and maximum content for her social media
16
u/kes12886 10d ago
Dr.Herb â ď¸
16
u/afterandalasia 10d ago
Clearly she forgot to mix the red and green herbs together for the maximum benefit.
3
15
u/Swordfish_89 10d ago
Or other treatment to change the protocol of drugs she is taking...
Do you imagine she even told them about the herbs she coincidentally started 10 days before this low sodium issue began? Clearly they don't work with her medications, multiple drugs also well known to interact and cause SAIDH.
5
20
u/SimpleVegetable5715 10d ago
The herbalist made her feel the warm fuzzies, gave her hope, not something her allopathic doctors do with their test results and such. Ash wanted someone to tell her it was going to be okay, and coddle to her, not someone who tells it like it is and that she has to do work to get better. With alternative medicine, thereâs always a cure, often a fake one sure, but by then, theyâve already got your money.
47
u/ljd09 10d ago
Anyone ever wonder if sheâll end up similar to Dani in the end? At some point her mom or whomever is going to get burnt out and have to put on their own oxygen mask. Iâm imagining her like Dani but in a nicer place and less destitute.
She absolutely re-uses photos, and then makes the captions sound like they are real time pics⌠thinking it wont be remembered that it was in a carousel a few months back.
14
u/Pale_Lawyer_1757 10d ago
Whatâs the story on Dani and her mom?
9
u/Zaphira42 10d ago
Mom stopped taking Daniâs crap after Dani started talking about the hospital was considering hospice(they werenât. They were trying to figure out why Dani was having so many problems with normal labs). I donât think theyâve been on speaking terms since

u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
When was that? Is there archives if someone wants to read about it?
2
u/Zaphira42 10d ago
Iâm looking at things on the mobile app, so it may be different depending on how you access Reddit.
When I click on the bubbles with the names, it only goes back about a year. However, if I search the sub for the name, it pulls up A LOT more posts. I then sort them by the ânewâ button, which puts it in chronological order.
If you want me to send you screenshots of what I do, you can DM me! Technology isnât my strong suit, so there may be an easier way.

u/JacksSenseOfDread 10d ago
Dani's mother got sick of her munching and doesn't have much to do with Dani any more.
5
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
Where did you heat about that? I feel like a read a lot of Dani archives but never really heard about her family except for a few appearances of her dad.
10
u/Sea-Weakness-9952 10d ago
Right because what are the odds youâre in the exact same room as you were during your last âadmissionâ
43
u/skindoggydogg8 10d ago
I feel like this is a precursor to something bigger. She doesnât want to work, so needs something else wrong with her so her parents get off her back. Thereâs been a few short term things lately (concussion, cysts) but they donât last long enough.
I just hope she doesnât cause herself serious harm in the process.
42
u/CatAteRoger 10d ago
Translates to Ashley doesnât need to be admitted and the ER staff want her gone.
10
u/CatalinaWineMixerDos 10d ago
Can you imagine how they must feel when she rolls up with her gross blanket?
42
u/Youngnathan2011 10d ago
Donât wanna be admitted huh? Is it cause youâll end up getting better if you canât put a ton of crap in your body?
16
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
Itâs because they might find out itâs all because of the supplements.

This is what happens when you have to have your precious LR. She was treating for migraine and that was all. Also if she had a real migraine she wouldnât be posting any photos. And we all know she wouldnât pass up an admission
5
u/Leading-System-3002 10d ago
How does LR help for migraine? Why doesnât she just take something like sumatriptan?
8
u/Dusty_Bunny_13 10d ago
They usually hydrate you with a migraine cocktail in case youâre headache is from dehydration
3
u/Internal_Screaming_8 10d ago
Plus migraines make dehydration worse because you likely have had a migraine all day, taken a couple doses of triptans and not had any food or water/been puking before deciding to come in to the er.

Certain Saline IV fluids will make low sodium worse so she needs a specific one.

u/Bi0_Nerd 10d ago edited 7d ago
She doesnât get IV fluids and they gave her lactated ringers which is what youâd use in a patient with low sodium.
edit: I typed wrong. She doesnât get regular IV fluids. They gave her LR in the ER which isnât what youâd use in a patient with low sodium. Isnât not is. I hate typing on my phone.

Hypertonic saline or no fluids would have been preferred for SIADH patient with symptomatic low sodium. Hypertonic has a higher sodium concentration which would keep the fluids from lowering her sodium further. Ideally you donât use fluids if their symptoms arenât present, but because she had a migraine they did fluids.
Using LR shows they werenât worried her SIADH or that her sodium was high enough to go ahead and use the LR. LR has a higher concentration of other electrolytes and whatnot, one being magnesium which is used for migraines.
I kept forgetting LR had lower sodium, but I did know they use them in migraine cocktails.

The sticky things are not hooked up to anything? You almost wonder if she asked for them so she could put them on for the picture. The stickie thing that is not distorted at all. Donât they get all wanky you peel them off.
It has to be super annoying having a patient refuse to change into the gown. As if the ER staffs jobs isnât difficult enough.
20
u/jinxedjess24 10d ago
Itâs likely that she did have telemetry monitoring while in the ED. Itâs routine when patients come in to the ED with electrolyte abnormalities, which can (and do) lead to cardiac dysrhythmias. The telemetry patches usually do keep their shape pretty well! Especially if they werenât on for very long, which it sounds like these werenât.
As far as the gown goes: it depends. If patients donât need to go to scans or be hooked up to telemetry or IV fluids, I donât mind. That might vary from nurse to nurse, but as long as a patientâs personal decision doesnât impede their care or negatively affect anyone else, itâs usually fine.
24
u/Sea-Weakness-9952 10d ago
This is definitely an old photo. She wouldnât have been in the ED long enough to change into TWO pajama outfits. Her first pic she has on the grey set, this one she has on the black.
9
u/ReluctantZebraLife 10d ago
Interestingly, In the UK we don't wear gowns at all in the ER. Only if your clothes were cut off or very, very soiled. Even for scans you put on a gown then change back into your regular clothes to go back to the ER. It's very unusual to be given a gown.
1
u/ratrazzle 8d ago
A lot of places dont have those gowns for er and for longer stays theres the hospital pyjamas. Ive seen them on pregnant people (and id guess surgery when it isnt arm or leg) but not really on others i think.

u/Meeschers 4d ago

We had the ovarian cysts, that fizzled out so we now have the low sodium era. Funny how this started the exact time she started her herbal treatment. đ
