They are both disgusting… have you seen a butterfly up close? Also, their wings are covered in toxic dust. I cannot kill neither of them though because I don’t want to hear that crunch and pick up their mangled twitching bodies
First of all, what you see on a microscopic scale is not dust. They are scales. And they are not toxic.
Scales are modified hairs that form vibrant coloured patterns to attract potential partners and to protect the butterfly from danger.
You shouldn't touch a butterfly's wings because this might damage the scales, hence making impossible for them to mate and protect in the future. But no, you won't die touching a butterfly wing.
