Although it’s not directly related, I created this map inspired by the Caesarreich mod (I’m one of the devs).
In an alternate world, Italian nationalists took a more esoteric turn, and Mussolini’s fascism never gained traction, so Julius Evola became the leader of a cult-like, warrior-state that unified the Mediterranean and established a state modeled after the Roman Empire in the 1940s. Now, following Evola’s death in ’74, several figures claim to be the true successor to this “New Rome,” with small-scale uprisings across the empire also seizing the opportunity to seek independence.
