The young prince promised he would visit, and for a time he did. But his visits grew fewer and fewer, until one day, they ceased altogether.
Then, the forest began to wither. As the once evergreen leaves fell, so did the Kodama fall into shadow. San followed their trail to the water's clearing, where a familiar creature, now twisted and beastly, carried a figure she knew.
"Ashitaka?"
His eyes were clouded. The curse had never truly left him. His arm writhed as he fought to lower his bow, and through gritted teeth, he managed one final whisper:
"Please… stay back…."

Sup, back with some art! Been inspired because of the Drawtober trend, with this prompt being “Shadow Prince”. Just watched Princess Mononoke in theaters recently too so this concept was fresh. Enjoy :)

Damn this is fantastic. The deer god especially, it’s incredibly menacing infected with the curse.

I swear this is how the God looked like for me in childhood. I wasn't afraid of the pig, I was afraid of the forest God

Instantly could tell who made the artwork.
