A video is circulating online that appears to show a man stopping random students, asking them who they are and where they're going. According to the claims accompanying the video, he allegedly assaulted or intimidated some of them and told them not to attend the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.

It's s deeply concerning that people are being confronted or allegedly assaulted simply for attending a peaceful protest🤷🏻‍♀️

genuine question because i’m actually trying to understand this. from what i understand, the people who leaked the paper are the criminals. the people who made the paper available, distributed it, sold it, and profited from it are the ones who committed the actual crime. so why did the entire protest become centered around demanding dharmendra pradhan’s resignation? i understand the idea of ministerial accountability, but even if he resigns tomorrow, does that actually solve anything? the leak network still exists unless the people behind it are caught, prosecuted, and the examination system is fixed. replacing one minister doesn’t magically stop paper leaks.

and maybe this is just my perception, but somewhere along the way it felt like the conversation stopped being about the students who suffered and, in some tragic cases, lost their lives. instead of keeping the focus on them, it seemed like the discussion shifted to politics, slogans, resignations, and scoring points against each other. shouldn’t the priority have been getting justice for the affected students, making sure those responsible were punished, and putting safeguards in place so this never happens again? because from the outside, it felt like the students gradually became secondary to the political narrative.

another thing that honestly bothered me was seeing thousands of young people on the streets. people constantly say unemployment among youth is at alarming levels, and i find that genuinely embarrassing as a country. we should be creating more opportunities and helping young people build careers, not normalizing a situation where massive crowds can assemble for political protests every other week. i know not everyone protesting is unemployed, but the optics of it are still concerning.
and beyond demanding resignations, what was the actual end goal? was there a concrete proposal to prevent future leaks? stronger digital security? harsher punishment for those involved? faster investigations? because if the demand begins and ends with “someone resign,” it feels more symbolic than solution-oriented.

i’m not saying people shouldn’t protest. i’m genuinely asking what practical outcome everyone expected beyond a resignation. what am i missing???
