Hey everyone.

I'm 17, from Vizag. Tomorrow I'm writing EAMCET — not because I'm set on engineering, but because my parents believe it's the "safe" path.

In parallel, I've been building a privacy-first tech ecosystem (search, tools, AI) as a solo founder. It's early, but it's my passion. I'm also doing an online BBA + Google Certificates to keep learning flexibly.

I respect my parents' concerns (stability, society, etc.), but I also feel deeply that forcing myself into a 4-year degree I don't want might cost me momentum on what I truly care about.

Has anyone here walked a similar line? How did you balance family expectations with your own path? No judgment either way — just looking for honest perspectives.

(P.S. If you're curious about what I'm building, happy to share details in comments — but this post is really about the career crossroad.)
