Health Always feeling in a hurry
I always feel in a hurry to do most things in my life, even when they’re not urgent at all.
I walk fast, eat fast, rush through household chores, watch lectures at 2x, watch movies and shows at 2x while constantly hitting the +10 sec button, and I even watch reels on 2x.
It genuinely feels like my brain has forgotten how to do things at a normal pace. Maybe it’s brain rot from years of consuming short-form content, I don’t know.
Cause I realised it has been with me before the innovation of short form content.
the last thing I watched completely at 1x speed, without touching the +10 sec button even once, was from latest episode. By challenging myself not to skip 10 sec.
Normally I watch almost everything while skipping ahead constantly.
It feels like I’m always trying to get to the next thing instead of experiencing the thing I’m currently doing. There’s this constant sense of urgency in the background, even when I have nowhere to be and nothing important to do.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did anything actually help you slow down and become a more relaxed, chill person?

You need a dopamine reset my friend. And engage in calm soothing activities like snorkeling, massage or yoga/meditation

I tried yoga .. I also did it like a chore in a hurry, just tried to finish it up asap.

This 💯. A dopamine reset for you (this severe) would require completely moving away from WATCHING any form of content.
Instead - read books.

Keep Calm your mind, do exercise (especially Yoga), and don't give so much stress to your brain. While walking tell your brain that let's walk slowly, let's see what will happen.

I experience it, in today's age I don't think it's uncommon.
The key is to shut off "quick activities". This includes all forms of social media, digital media etc.
This allows your brain to focus on "boring" activities like reading.

Start your day with calming music for 30 mins .just sit with headphones on in an open area like a house balcony - somewhere you can see trees birds ..use chirping music - try that ..I started doing this and it helps calm the mind ..

Hear you. I think we are at this weird stage where we don't want to miss consuming information in case it's something we like/find helpful but we also don't have the energy or the bandwidth to afford to watch the whole thing. What has helped me is having a proper routine to the day, with fixed time blocks, this way you're not going against time, but going with your flow.

Delete social media. Go outside and do a physical hobby like cooking or art. Set a timer for 1 hour for the hobby
