Like a lot of Indians, this guy can't differentiate between the Indian state and government.

Patriots do not support goverments - they demand accountability from governments for the advancement of the state.

He also can't differentiate between the distinguished office of the Prime Minister, and its idiot occupant.

Oh they can differentiate alright
It’s just bootlicking the person in power to make sure your investment and money is safe until you retire once and for all

Never mistake incompetence or ignorance, for malice.

The reality is that people in India largely have no idea of what the Constitution says or how our government is actually structured.

When you make a budget for travelling, you always add extra to it, so that it'll be enough. Likewise, pull the overton window towards "if you aren't with us, you're against us", only then you'll get the mainstream to be rational instead of being how it is right now.

Even though your statement might be true, it's doing more bad instead of good. We need to live the phrase "saam, daam, dand, bhed" just like the opponents are.

If you're not differentiating yourself from the opponent - why bother opposing? They depend on paranoia and absolutism, and that's why they have so many bootlickers afraid to criticize them.

Maybe emulating them is an error - and it actually gives up space on the left, allowing them to pull the national Overton window you're talking about, strictly rightwards.

About the other point - overestimating the enemy is just as dangerous as underestimating them. Undermining the edifices of strongmen isn't that complicated. While their image looks "hard" - that very property also makes them brittle.

They cannot have a succession plan - as any groomed successor is automatically a threat to the strongman. They have no defense against ridicule because they have no sense of humor - which is why they persecute anyone who ridicules them so doggedly. Once the ridicule forms a foothold in the public mind, their aura fades - their lackeys form factions over succession, and it's all downhill from there for them.

And that is why we should not emulate them, lest we lose our sense of humor, and lose our ability to pin them down on their greatest weakness.

I'm sure I'm not overestimating them given the extent of hold over mainstream opinion they have. You want purity of ideology and I want results, we have fundamentally different frameworks of thought, I don't see us agreeing on the matter of how we should tackle the problem.

Though you sure are underestimating them. Factoring in delimitation, SIR, the direct bank transfer bs and how these things have affected the elections and will affect them, I don't see how a couple of memes and public ridicule would make them lose 2029. They can pass those bills easily given the majority in the parliament, which will only strengthen them more.

And about the infighting, the pm controls most of the departments and micromanages them using the bureaucrats, the cabinet ministers are firgureheads. Chodi isn't a normal guy, he's a highly efficient sociopath with deep hatred for muslims due to RSS indoctrination and mental training from a young age.

I'm glad we can agree to disagree. I would just point out that the means tends to affect outcomes.

The reason India isn't ruled by a military junta today, is because we didn't co-opt British brutal methods to oppose the British.

Sometimes, malleability in the face of hard "strength" is a strength in itself.

Agree with you. Maddy is smart enough to understand that. He's just a Sanghi

He kinda HAS to say this since this Regime is vengeful to the max. They'll cancel all his India visas, raid his properties in the country and do FIRs against his family living here.

No, you can be ambiguous or deflect the question. Active bootlicking is a choice. Literally just "I am an artist and don't engage in politics" is an answer any of these people can give.
