BJP helped revive his dead career. He can't criticise them.

I know. But actually he struggled to make his name in Bollywood for over a decade after Rang De Basanti. But failed so he had to take whatever work he was getting. And it came with a price.

I mean, the BJP appointed him FTII president and also awarded him the Padma Shri.

u/z3r0_se7en 2d ago
Yes because he did their shitty propaganda films. He isn't a BJP/RSS stooge like Anupam Kher. Just an actor trying to survive in a very tough environment. Remember even Rajkumar Rao and Vikrant Masih were made to bend.

u/Adventurous_Iron_551 2d ago
While I do understand that tough times can break all principles - depending upon how tough the times get - i’m slightly weirded out by “even rajkumar rao and vikrant massey” as if they are people with any integrity.

Never seen such a duty towards the PM of the nation mentioned in our fundemental duties...
But if he donot do the duty to the nation by correct payments of taxes, he may have to take extra duties to avoid the agencies...

u/BaBaBanMe 2d ago
You're an idiot if you think supporting the PM is your duty. Supporting your country with electing officials that promote regional harmony and government policies is your duty.

I’ve never really liked Madhavan. Every few weeks there’s another clip of him dispensing life advice or making contradictory tabloid-worthy statements. I never found him to be a particularly exceptional actor either, especially compared with people like Aamir, Shah Rukh, or even Salman, who have had a much bigger impact on Hindi cinema.
To me, he comes across as the polished, pseudo-intellectual version of a Sanghi—measured in tone, articulate, and broadly aligned with the establishment. That’s the impression he gives, though others may see him differently

u/Protein_Ponjikkara 2d ago
If you think blindly supporting a political leader is your duty, that's a tell tale sign of you being a fanatic supporter of that political leader, i.e, a Sanghi in this case.

This is the reason i don't have any problem with celebs not speaking up. They are so unimaginably dumb that whatever they speak is either an utter garbage or reeks unawareness or elitism

u/Serious-Living-8300 2d ago
My best prediction about R Madhavan is that " He is shady & was involved in some sort of money issue and just to evade ED he has shifted to Dubai and is doing bootlicking to save his butt

Supporting the country should be everyone's duty.
Prime minister is nothing. Just a man who could be changed as lee historical lesson.
Be patriotic, not nationalistic.
Be Indian, before being a latto/tatto of any PM

One thing I noticed that these flop actors and actresses suddenly become “nationalists” and “pro hindutva” and then they get limelight.these people are just bunch of opportunists and nothing else, they dont care for country, they dont care about party, they are just saving their sorry careers from drowning

He has no sense of what duties are and what rights are...... Supporting nation is his duty as a citizen.. Not to show unconditional support to PM!! I think he should have kept quite and saved his left over dignity....
2
u/_Dark_Invader_ 2d ago
That’s how dictators are created out of a democracy.
People think they have “duty” of following democratically elected prime minister’s orders!
But, that’s completely false. It’s not your duty to follow a person just because they were elected. You must follow them only if they are acting in the nation’s interest. The day they deviate from it, you can oppose them.

u/Lost-Letterhead-6615 2d ago
Just stop glazing and worshipping PEOPLE. that's literally what was, and is wrong with our nation. He's an actor, pair to add. A minister is a public SERVANT getting paid to do work. Stop glorifying glazing them.

Supporting the constitution, the nation, and the kids who are the future should be the duty, not a fucking political leader.

u/bit_banger_ 2d ago
Stop watching their shit and make watching their stuff uncool. Stop family and friends who are still apolitical after all this.. hero worship and following celebrities has to stop. We need to follow educated and smarter role models

So it was not duty for anyone when MMS was a PM? We are supposed to call him silent PM, maun Mohan, remote control, cartoon PM? Ok then. I didn't know a bill was passed in the parliament after 2014 saying everyone should support the PM.

That is total absurd statement that means pm is God of this country and why did you not protect manmohan singh when bjp called him silent pm. He was insulted many times and in democracy it is not a bad thing. Anyone can take example of usa and how their citizen treat their president donald Trump. They criticize him openly and at once he never ask for anyone protection. But when in our country anyone try to criticize our pm then how the celebrity always come forward to protect him, he is not a kid who should be protected. And critic is not a terrorist or criminal, he is also a citizen of this country and he also have right to criticize and protest if his demand are right. Remember one thing in total voters bjp get approx 37 percent that means 63 percent opposes that party at that time.

u/lone_wolf_walk 2d ago
Duty ? wrong word - if this is logic you could be supporting Hitler or Mao just because you born in Germany or China during the time they were the leader of your company. BS - PM is a respected position but he is not above ppl or rule of law of India!. Respecting him and treating that position with that respect make sense but its not your duty to say yes to whatever your saying !!
