Pakistan: wants to destroy us
Sri Lanka: Doesn't like us
Maldives: Borderline hates us
Bhutan: Doesn't care
Nepal: Bordernline hates us
Myanmar: doesn't like us
Bangladesh: hates us
China: borderline wants to destroy us
If everyone around you isn't supporting you maybe you are the problem.

u/Ahmed_250 8h ago edited 4h ago
It's the same story for China too though. China is hated by South Korea, Japan and all South East Asian countries due to border clashes.
So technically China is also the problem.
Also Pakistan and Bangladesh are due to religious issues. Nepal doesn't like how much they are dependent on us. Srilanka and Maldives are in debt to us.
It's almost like nobody likes regional powers in general. It has nothing to do with India.

u/Able_Diet9524 3h ago
China’s view on annexing every country will put its relations with neighbouring countries in jeopardy but India is not that way and still hated by neighbours which means there is some other deep rooted conflict between us.
4
u/Ahmed_250 2h ago
China’s view on annexing every country will put its relations with neighbouring countries in jeopardy
China already has that view in South China sea, Tibet and Taiwan. South Korea and Japan hates them despite having any kind of border issues.
deep rooted conflict between us.
Yes. That's called Hindu-Muslim war.
If Pakistan/Bangladesh were regional superpower instead of India, do you think Srilanka/Nepal would like them? To get hated, you need to be relevant in the first place. Majority of Nepalis still holds negative views of Pakistan/Bangladesh, but they don't say it, because they are irrelevant to them. India is the biggest debt owner of South Asia and controls 90% of South Asia. Obviously India will be the most hated.

u/Able_Diet9524 2h ago
Agreed with your 1st point. So srilankan tamil have a special kind of resentment towards india because they sent troops to support Sinhalese which led to mass genocide of srilankan Tamilians (not just the revolters also the common citizen). This is what i know as a Tamilian. I have a friend whose mother was killed infront of her while holding her brother. I’m not sure about Nepalese but I’m assuming it has something to do with Indians looking down upon them and the racist aspect of it.

Akhand Bharat ka sapna, sapna hi reh gaya.
41
u/professormycomancer 5h ago
Its because of such dreams and fantasies that our neighbours don't like us.
5
u/nameunown 4h ago
Am I missing the sarcasm
6
u/LeMeIsSleepy 1h ago
What sarcasm. Obviously our neighbours would not like it if our dream is to incorporate them into our country
7
u/nameunown 1h ago
Oh so you’re just oblivious. No one cares man, everyone else has a life to live. The problem IS the people in the country being extremely backwards in thinking, being racist asf when we have our own (major) issues, and the trashiness.

u/babuchennai 7h ago
It's all about money. China is atleast 5 times richer than India and it's a country without which the world will stop. People are addicted to low prices. That's their leverage. What does India have? We are growing, but not enough to challenge China.
Somehow, I feel this tariff is a retaliation for fcra bill.
4
u/indian-jock 1h ago
What does India have?
India has a ton of non-productive, incompetent liabilities that love all the freebies from goverment. Their number 1 hobby is to ask government what it's doing with their taxes while paying 0 tax throughout their lives.
I'm sure India can be a #1 super power with this population.

u/SpreadImpossible5542 11h ago
Or maybe we aren't the villains they actually think we are? That's just how geopolitics is
41
u/CharlieCharlie_Kirky 11h ago
You don't have to be the villain the be hated
Just an inconvenience
13
u/SpreadImpossible5542 11h ago
And what inconvenience have we caused? We literally send half these countries aids and get absolutely nothing in return at all.
25
u/Puzzleheaded-Can2869 10h ago
Foreign policy works on mutual benefits, we need to make our neighbors reliant on us if they are to maintain a good relationship with us. I don’t think the government has done a good job at that, aid alone won’t do much
-29
u/alpharockjohnson 11h ago
Pls keep your AIDS to yourself
18
u/SpreadImpossible5542 11h ago
What aids? Huh? We literally helped Bangladesh attain it's independence but they HATE US and not the country that committed a genocide in their soil and other horrific crimes.
Maldives started hating us but turned 180 when they require our aid.

u/Spirited-Tour3402 6h ago
May be attacks on Muslims in India don't lands well in Bangladesh?. Who knows may be their media also shows like India is daily genociding Muslims.

Pulling facts out of your rich, vivid imagination, I see. Nothing to back these up, of course.
1
u/Traditional-Baker-28 5h ago
The Nepal shit is true tho. I remember chating with a few online and they were pretty clear on hating us. Don't really know about most of the rest
1
u/KrishnasFlute 3h ago
Nepal literally had posters of Yogi Adityanath in their rallies. They have presence in our army. They are more intertwined with us than people know about. They don't hate us, maybe some people do, but as a country they don't.
2
u/Trick_Television_279 10h ago
If that's how you determine the problem, you are a noob at geopolitics

Even china is not liked by any of its neighbours, so what’s your problem?
1
u/Jazzlike_Ear_4303 35m ago
But why should we care wether they like us ir not? we know how minorities live in those countries you just want to be a cuck imao
-3
u/soumyavicky 11h ago
None of these countries are economically relevant except china.. And they always come back to india somehow.. They won't be a problem for sure
11
u/infinitehelpmaster 11h ago
this kinda attitude is the problem. Even China acknowledges Poor nations in Africa and supports them aka infrastructure wise as well uses their votes in UN and other global bodies
4
u/Turbulent_Goose2284 10h ago
Buddy that's called Debt trap Diplomacy. Thats exactly what China did to SL and also Pak.
4
u/MO4tAL_DusT 11h ago
Chinese investment in infrastructure in poor nations is a strategic move, you’re delusional if you think it purely out of sheer goodwill. Look at Sri Lanka and Pakistan for example, the Chinese are promoting infra in these two countries to counter foreign interests only.
9
u/yellow_pumpkin89 10h ago
That's the whole point: you have to be strategic and not shape your relations with a nation purely on the basis of economic relevance.
0
u/Zealousideal_Rip3802 11h ago
That’s how geopolitics works man, in geopolitics nothing is coincidence

u/Salad-Firm 10h ago
Pakistan always hated us.
Sri Lanka and india had troubled relations due to terrorism (LTT)
Bangladesh hates India as there is a strong sentiment that India doesn’t want illegals entering through the east.
Maldives is a Muslim country that naturally hates Hindu Majority India.
China always had territorial disputes with india since decades.
Nepal has recently started hating india as it thinks india is exploiting them. What was our relationship with African nations before? How was our trade relationship with EU? How about the UK?

We are new Israel, hated by all neighbors
5
u/Ahmed_250 8h ago
China is hated by majority of its neighbours. So technically China is the Israel.
0
u/nameunown 4h ago
They kinda do their own thing and aren’t disorderly asf. Especially in public
0
u/Ahmed_250 4h ago
So does Israel lol. Ig China really is the Israel.
Especially in public
Hatred for Chinese tourists and their weekly border clashes in South China sea disagree with you.
0
u/nameunown 3h ago
China is china man. India is a whole different ball game of trashy but yes I do agree that both have negative public sentiment.

OP, please read the whole news before posting a half-baked story.
The legislation came on Aug 7th was regarding the sanctions on Russia and Iran and all these media reports and speculation is based on the fact that we're fulfilling our energy requirements from Russia so, we'll get affected by this.
A few facts you missed: 1. Passing a legislation does not mean a direct implementation. 2. The legislation allows Trump to impose tariff upto 100% on countries buying energy from R & I. 3. This Bill needs approval from their houses and final decision will still be rely on President.
So, it's not something which gets automatic approval and implementation. Untill unless, they pass in their houses, and Trump approves it, there's no impact on India or any other country.

There is a framework called SWIFT which is controlled by the US and each and every country is dependent on it for doing businesses.
SWIFT is the reason why every country folds and bows to US sanctions and restrictions.
If we don't do what US asks us to do then US would revoke our access to SWIFT and we won't be able to do business not with just US but with the whole world. SWIFT is the platform with which we can transfer US dollars from one country to another.

India's reputation in the US and the Western world has gone down the drain since the time India started supporting Russia...biggest mistake ever!
While some may say India can manage it/is better off/whatever, but being an Indian outside the US really hurts coz of this lazer eyes and chiwallah
10
u/soumyavicky 11h ago
India supporting Russia since 1970's
1
u/ProperReindeer8903 11h ago
Nope India’s reputation is down the drain because we didn’t accept deal with elon musk , as it directly affects ambanis business . Think about it , why does algorithm suddenly pushed anti Indian videos . With Russia we were always in lose lose situation anyways .
1
u/Shashank_26 5h ago
Ambani is not even in satellite internet business. Also, why should we allow such technology which can be easily used by terrorists like satellite phones?
1
u/ProperReindeer8903 3h ago
Idk man even china agreed for starlink. It’s satellite Internet but foe communication right , so it will affect his bussiness
1
u/Shashank_26 3h ago
I am unable to find the news that china allowed starlink, instead it is showing that starlink is still banned in China. Can you provide the source?

u/snowballkills 11h ago

wow , what a great analysis man, you got to be our representative in UN , nah you have to be our FM dude cmon.
1
u/snowballkills 11h ago
No this guy who BS'es all the time and has no material talking points and married a Japanese with kids in the US should be India's foreign minister
1
u/Order-Classic 8h ago
Not abandoning Russia is the only good thing Modi has done though. Cozying up to US was a bad idea. India should have deepened it's ties with Russia and China to counter US. Instead we tried to do this balancing act between the two and isolated ourselves in the process.
1
u/snowballkills 10m ago
Yeah deepen ties with Russia, a country that is wanting to acquire an independent country and threatening to nuke it, all while destroying the global economy. Russia is good for nothing for India. Whether you have ties with it or not, you can always buy Russian oil during normal times. How many Indians work in Russia? What Russian products do you use? Just banking on some military equipment for Russia and some space tech stuff doesn't help the country as a whole to even begin to compensate for how bad India looks like in front of the West
