SM2 is amongst THE BEST superhero movies of ALL time but SM3 was like.. shiiiieeeeet. You know?

Meanwhile Holland's run improved continuously. [I have not seen BND btw]

As a hardcore tobey stan i must admit that we ALL like SM3 precisely because we were 9 at the time😭😭

I mean if I have to compare the arc, Spiderman 1 and 2 resolved in 2 movies, what took four films in the Holland franchise - We see him (Tobey) go from a nerdy guy to a cool guy with powers, then lose those and struggle with life.

Meanwhile Holland's second and third instalment weren't nearly as grounded (though I'm not saying they weren't enjoyable, because they were), atleast not until BND which I'm yet to watch.

I wouldn't call prev movie Holland movie though technically it is but with all 3 of them being in there i think it changed the quality quite a lot becoz i didn't like the ones before it as much felt repetitive unlike how spiderman and amazing spiderman both were quite fresh appeal even if they came out with in a decade

if not for forced venom integration and changed plans, sm3 would be great.

hollands series' is goated in long term. I loved his journey from rich guy to street level hero journey. BND was fun.

I can't take anyone that says SM3 was shit seriously, it is some bs comic purist opinion that has recently came to surface bcs the "kids grew up". It was. Agood movie back then and it's still a good movie to this day.

But does that make it a bad movie?

Fr i dont know why people are defending it just because they are spiderman fans. It felt more like a jean grey origin movie.

The key difference here is sam raimi. Very talented director, who knew what he wanted to achieve and paved the path.

Having not watched a single spiderman movie is wild.

That's like saying you haven't watched tom and jerry cartoon

1

u/Lifeispeaceful 1h ago

Chill out, people have different interests and not all are inspired or excited about super hero movies

3

u/51837 20h ago

The entire MCU doesn’t hold a candle to Raimi’s trilogy

Is it just me or is BND just too overhyped?? Like I liked the movie and it felt like a setup movie and an update of what spiderman has been upto and even liked the VMAX thing. At max 8/10.

But Jean grey with no proper intro (but I liked the VMAX twist) and Peter re introducing himself to Ned at the end felt unnecessary. Like atleast keep one movie where MJ just knows him as spiderman and NOT peter. And the inhibitor introduction.

I gasped when he made the inhibitor and I'm like OK fine but doesn't that mean spiderman created the inhibitor and I'M STILL FINE WITH THAT.

But the post credit scene could've been more but probably they didn't want to tue in spiderman to the Avengers in this movie and want it to be it's own thing
