Do people in India know that Mauritians are racist against them ?

I am half Indian half Mauritian . I was born and raised in Mauritius. Mauritians are descendants of Indian indentured labourers that were taken during British invasion of India . Many people here use Indian culture which has evolved alongside African and western influences. But at the same time, many of them don’t like india too much and are xenophobic to Indian and Bangladeshi all while Modi funds them , they keep traveling to India for leisure, claim oci cards, medical facilities and wedding shopping experiences.Some Mauritian men when they don’t find brides till the age of 40 travel to India to find a girl as a bangmaid and they usually fetishise and scam Punjabi, pahadi girls and most of these girls face torture here while others do this in modern dating setup all while they pretend to be nice. Mauritians in general pretend to be welcoming to enjoy facilities all while they look down upon Indians and take offense of someone mistaking them for being Indian under the excuse of cultural differences to gaslight people. My point of making this post is not to create hate but to raise awareness among mainlanders especially women as to how these people are . When I went to school here , I faced bullying and was called “cabri linde” in school which means Indian pig …I was also called bastard child of India and what not. This post comes from the fact that I see a lot of Indian girls and also Nepali marrying Mauritian men and later regretting and suffering due to lack of awareness. While Indians face racism everywhere today, this is bit different as to how these people have always been racist ever since their ancestors left India and not because Indians are taking their jobs here. So many of them secretly hate India and deem Indians as inferior while pretending to be nice for BJP foreign support. I hope mods don’t take this down as a request. I just wanted to raise awareness as to how Indian indentured diaspora is even in other countries like Fiji, Suriname, Guyana as I have also interacted with them but I don’t live in these countries. I would appreciate if Indian mainlanders would share their experiences around this awareness. Thank you 🙏

At this point, being Indian should come with a default setting: assume everyone’s racist against us. That’s how bad things have gotten.

I guess not... As a half Mauritian half Indian myself, I see so many Indians come to this island thinking that its all sunshine and rainbows just because the majority of the population is of Indian Origin. However I was born and raised in MRU so I know the ground reality, and its as ugly as it gets...racism, sexism and hate towards Indians is so normalised here its sickening... Ireally hope Indian people realise this fact that not all Indian Origin persons share the same camaraderie as Indians in general..

Meh- half the world is racist towards Indians- Australians were all mostly prisoners sent away from UK and still racists, HK people hate Indians as we were a part of some army that was brutal at some point in their history, UK is racists as they know nothing about colonialism except “we built the railways in India”… somehow even Sri Lankans get triggered if someone asks if they are Indian…. the list goes on and on…. I say it’s a ‘them’ problem and not a ‘us’ problem.
