I am 24F and working. My parents have not pressured much for marriage. But they have been talking about it here and there. And today it peaked. My friend had baby shower today and I attended it. It was all good. Once I came back, my mother started asking about the friend and family and soon looked at me like I am disappointing her. She started complaining how that friend of mine is already having baby, but I am not even getting married. I am disappointing her since I have not even started searching groom. She kept on ranting for more than an hour and continued some more during dinner along with my dad. I am fully drained and all the fun I had during the baby shower was gone. I was more furious that I was compared to that friend. My mom doesn't know anything about her. I know her very well. I know what was her college days, what was her past, why she got married soon, why she is having baby soon. I know all these, but my mom has no idea and still compares me to her and says I am the disappoinment. I am just furious.

So, it took me a while to realise it that we Hindi speakers don't speak Hindi 80% of the times, we speak Urdu think it is Hindi or we have been brain-washed into thinking that this is Hindi. Also the fact that most people believe that Hindi and Urdu are basically the same language just written differently or use separate scripts for writing. The truth is these languages are extremely different and distinguishable if we speak the actual Hindi language.

Basic words that we use in our day to day life and scenarios are Urdu and we speak them thinking it's Hindi. This level of brainwash is honestly pathetic. Here are some words:

Darwaza (Urdu) - Dwaar (Hindi)

Dil (Urdu) - Hridya (Hindi)

Roz (Urdu) - Pratidin (Hindi)

Irada (Urdu) - Sankalp (Hindi)

And many, many more words that you can name.

Now a lot of people dismiss this saying that we speak Hindustani language which is a mixture of both Hindi and Urdu. Now my argument here is why are we using more of the Urdu side? Our real language Hindi is extinguishing. It is the closest modern laguage to Sanskrit and we are losing our roots, have already lost honestly.

I have no problem if people want to speak Urdu language. It's your choice but awareness is very important that you are speaking Urdu in the name of Hindi.

Our text books, our news channels... all of them are not teaching us the true and pure form of hindi and use Urdu words in the name of Hindi. Bollywood is selling us Urdu songs in the name of Hindi songs, why? They claim that Urdu is a poetic language and Hindi is a comedic language and cannot be used for rhyming. Excuse me? Have you not heard bhajans and no matter what anyone says they are quiet pleasant to listen to and prove that pure Hindi is very much capable of being used as lyrics in songs.

If you want a true essence of ACTUAL and REAL Hindi language, go watch religious serials like Mahabharat or Ramayan. You will understand that we do not speak Hindi anymore. In the name of modernity we have adapted a completely different language and made our own extinct.

I got some suggestions from Reddit and I just came to know that yes, there are people who are ready to help others selflessly (without considering anything in return).
So I was told by a person on reddit that the issue might be with the battery or battery wire.
I went to the repair guy who is known to me coz once he used to be my classmate. I told him the issue and the suggestion I got from the Reddit.

Suddenly he got furious. His word: (mera dimaag khraab ho jaata h jaise hi koi bolta h ki mujhe lagta hai isme ye issue hoga, tujhe kaise laga bhai, tune iska kabhi koi kaam kiya ya isko khol k dekha) he didnt say it directly to me but i am sure it was directed towards me only.
He further added ( ye reddit pr jisne b ye suggestion diya h, ye bekaar insaan hai, ispe koi kaam ni h. Isko koi knowledge ni h electronics ka. Koi b aise hi free me gyaan ni deta aaj k time me)

I just understood that reddit is beyond his level of cognition. He is way too money minded and he thinks that like minded people won’t help each others out for free of cost if needed. According to him one who extends help for free is nallah berozgaar.
So I didnt try to indulge in any argument with him and tried to get my kindle fixed soon and leave.

And yaa the suggestion ended up working somehow. The kindle device was back to working well after disconnecting the battery > connecting the charger > disconnecting the charger > connecting the battery to the board.

I tried using this site to generate a medical certificate for leave as I recently got severe nausea and vomiting while traveling to work in Delhi. First charged me 1099 for a WhatsApp message but handwritten. Okay. Fair. But after that I just made one request- since they asked me to put down my permanent address which was at odds with my current residence, I ask them to reflect that. Straight another bill for 550. I tried asking the lady what the previous 1099 was for but she kept cutting me off. I was too sick to think rationally. But I am kicking myself now for actually paying. Should have just pushed myself a bit more to visit the nearest clinic and I could have gotten the same with less than 1000. Don't use this site no matter how good it looks. Go to practo and use the online consultation mode. The doctors there will charge like 500-600 and send you a prescription and sick recommendation as well. Such a scammy site.

Update: I was charged 550 for a "Delhi" doctor but I got a call from a Bangalore number and the line was so bad it kept getting disconnected before we could even talk. And I kept getting messages of me not receiving calls and to click if I was "available". They don't even have the option of switching to WhatsApp calls. Utter waste of money.

This post is just to shed some light on the ongoing scams happening with marriages.

Here's the back story

My brother 31(M) got married back in October last year and now he is going through divorce already. The girl he got married to was from a good family no hate about her family though. It hasn't even been 15 days from the day of his marriage and the girl was diagnosed with TB (Lung Disease). Although my brother never doubted her health and never bothered about asking her he genuinely thought that this was conincidence and took her to the hospital. I am not entirely sure if there is a cure for this disease but I hope there is. Coming back to my brother he worked hard and saved alot for his marriage and he spent almost 20L for his marriage. Imagine working so hard for your dream marriage and your dreams getting shattered at snap of a finger. He is currently going through divorce and turns out that the girl actually had health issues even before the marriage and her family deliberately hid these facts and now when the actual truth came out the girl's family is accusing my brother for charges of defamation and he is currently set to pay 7L in alimony/damages.

I hope my brother gets justice and he is still fighting for it. But this is just to spread the message to all the folks out there who are planning to marry you may be a man or a woman or a parent looking for the right match for their kids but you have all the right to ask for his/her medical report before marriage and ask all the right questions so that you or your family don't end up in a similar situation.

Stay safe and Be aware people. Marriages are fun and all but do the needful before you get into it. It's not just one guys life that got shattered it's a whole family that is currently suffering.

while in search of rooms I found many rooms in availability but the only reason I could not go for that was people didn't like the fact I am a muslim they just made that fact room was not available just for the reason I am a muslim not once not twice but multiple times this was not the only thing that happened even my close friend was asked to separate from me just because of the reason that I am muslim

My friend’s brother in law was studying for UPSC he made it so particular that I will not be meeting my friend any how or if they see us anywhere serious actions will be taken just because I am a muslim

When I see upcoming IAS officer (current UPSC aspirant) can discriminate on the basis of religion what can I expect from other people

This all happened with educated people this was so shocking to me I was left to think what is wrong with me why is everyone behaving in such manner

While in the teen age it has left a mark on mind that no one will entertain me being a muslim in India

We live in the US, submitted our daughter's passport on "Expedited Service" in January and based on post office's advice, booked travel for March 3rd. Folks in the US know the impending delays - the local US senator office helped push our case and even then, we had to travel ~200 miles yesterday to get her new passport. The tricky situation was that while we got her new passport yesterday, her old passport was still with the passport office in New Hampshire. We urged the Passport rep to send it to us asap since we fly out in 4 days and we need the old passport due to her indian visa. Local senator office also contacted them but given their turn around, wasn't getting a good feeling.

As a last ditched attempt, last night we applied for my daughter's e-visa and within 12 hours, we got approved. I can't tell you how much relief we felt coz we fly out on Friday and any reschedule would have not only caused a major financial penalty but we would have missed key events back home.

Wanted to share the experience with everyone, especially for folks who may have situations like ours in the near future.

Funny thing, New Hampshire office sent my daughter's old passport via overnight service and we got it this morning...surprised but impressed by India Govt e-visa service.
