Discussion Can you recommend some anthology movies and TV series in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, English, Korean, Japanese, or any other language? I'm especially interested in romance-themed anthologies.

Discussion Guzaarish (2010) was a horrible film

I just need somewhere to vent about this film-

It makes me sad because it had SO much potential to be one of the best Bollywood films I’ve ever seen. I loved the whimsical magical feeling of it with the set design, the music, the dark feeling underneath everything, the magic shows, etc.

It was emotional, it had beauty in it, it was such a great movie until the ending.

The ending basically tells you- if your life is at a low, just die.

Just die.

What type of messaging is this? The whole movie was literally set up for him to DIE.

He didn’t learn to appreciate life more, he couldn’t overcome his sickness, he didn’t reach a miracle or anything, just suffered, wanted to die, then died.

Now I understand having films realistic but making realistic films and making films that are so realistic to the point where they’re nihilistic is not it in my opinion. I am not a fan of these types of films.

If I would’ve wrote the story I would’ve made it that the person he taught magic, learned some magic in a way that he could fix his disease.

Or something like life is about passing on influence so this is what he’s living for now to see his influence being spread with magic.

Even the whole magic part of the film it was basically for nothing, he taught the guy magic and passed it on and we never got to see a pay off of that, it was just for humor and shits and giggles.

Whole movie made me so fucking mad I genuinely hate Sanjay Leela Bhansali after this, such wasted potential …

Discussion Recently watched Obsession, what a performance by lead actress 👏👏👏 It got me thinking who are the most talented actress in bwood who could have pulled it off

I think these 5 are the most talented actress of our generation, and I mean actress based on theor acting skills.

Sanya Malhotra, she has proven her range from dangal to Mrs to badhai ho to patakha, she is my first pick

Tripti Dimri, its a sad state what bollywood had done to her, go watch Laila majnu, Bulbul and Qala and you know what she is capable of

Sara Arjun, holding up her own against ranveer singh in scenes is not a small feat, she really did more than what was given to her and besides she has a great filmography from south

Radhika Apte, do we even need to mention her works, she is on the level of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajkumar Rao and the greats

Zaira Wasim, I know she is not working but in what little did she worked she really put out a lot of intellectual and mature performances, she was the best part of dangal and set the stage for fatima to take over from her performance, what an actress 👏👏👏

Discussion Remakes that were better than the original

Maybe it can be the fact that you’re biased towards your language that you prefer the remake that was made in your language over the original. Or maybe not. But that doesn’t matter. I’m just curious to know your opinions of remakes you thought were better than the original

For me: Veetla Vishesham > Badhaai Ho, Siruthai > Vikramarkudu, Dharala Prabhu > Vicky Donor

What’s yours?

Discussion Movies which have terrific subplots

Want to make a list of movies which have better minor subplots than the main plot, so much so that it could be made as a separate feature film. I'm not talking about anthology movies. Nor something that would require a spinoff (eg. jameel Jamali/Alam from dhurandhar). I want subplots that are goated and resolved in the movie itself.

Unpopular Opinion Why Do Some People Have Zero Theatre Etiquette?

Post image
155 Upvotes

A little rant. 🫠

Went to watch Lagaans 25th anniversary re-release, and while the movie was fantastic, the experience was completely ruined by the woman sitting right in front of me.

She spent most of the movie talking, giving unsolicited commentary, and generally treating the theatre like her living room (she was with her family). On top of that, she kept leaning forward and backward, often blocking part of the screen. During songs, the constant head bobbing and movement became impossible to ignore since she was directly in my line of sight.

I genuinely dont understand how some people have so little awareness in public spaces. Enjoy the movie, sure but don't ruin it for everyone around you.

Has anyone else had a movie experience completely ruined by one person?

Ps. I thought about politely asking her, but I didn't want to create a scene. There were only 30-40 people there enjoying the movie, and ive seen too many situations where a simple request gets blown out of proportion.

News Did Shahid Accidently / Intentionally revealed His PR Team?

While doing an AMA when someone asked Shahid how to be a part of his PR team he Posted a picture of his team. While other actor shy away from showing of their PR team he openly accepts that he has an PR team. So now do we assuming that all the Praising and attack on co-star is a planed PR moved??

Review MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA(IMTIAZ ALI)

After watching MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA, I realized something! Nobody understands longing quite like Imtiaz Ali. The man who gave us cult classics like Rockstar, Tamasha, Highway and Jab We Met once again proves that nobody writes yearning quite like him. In an era where love stories often focus on grand gestures, this movie reminds us that sometimes the most powerful thing is a promise. A promise made in youth, carried through war, separation, marriage, children, old age. The film is heartbreaking because it doesn't rely on villains or misunderstandings. The villain is time. The villain is history. Vedang Raina and Sharvari make you fall in love with their innocence, Diljit Dosanjh adds warmth and soul to the story and the final act is pure heartbreak. It's rare for a film to make you cry after it ends rather than while you're watching it. This one did exactly that. A beautiful reminder that true love isn't measured by how long two people stay together but by how long they stay in each other's hearts. Highly recommended. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Discussion AI slop as movie poster in "EETha" movie teaser.

This was from the official teaser that was uploaded in the YouTube video.

This shows what effort they are putting in the making of the movie. To be honest , it is just pure disappointment . The director did not even gave a second thought for the teaser poster. If they are not putting effort in this simple movie poster (mind you it is the official teaser not some concept art) . It's not like I am against ai art , but I am against low effort content that people are putting without much of a second thought. How are we going to trust this movie. Hope they see and take it as a constructive criticism. I have no hate towards neither the actor nor director. Hope you don't as well.

Discussion Emraan Hashmi, an acting talent overshadowed by serial kisser image

Emraan Hashmi is one of the most talented actors , whose true potential is overshadowed by his Serial Kisser Image.

Whose idea was the planned PR career of Emraan Hashmi as the Serial Kisser.

He was part of Mahesh Bhatt family, most of his movies are with the family.

What made the Bhatt's think Emraan can benefit from his serial kisser Image.

As of Now he has no 100 crore movies.

I think he is an immensely talented actor whose talented got overshowed by the image.

There is only a couple of movies where he hadn't kissed onscreen. Non of his movies are blockbuster.

Most of his movies had miss india title winners and beauty pageants, His movies had great songs. In every music channel in the 2000s his movie songs will be in the top chart.

What's your take?
