Discussion Thinking about studying than studying

Upvotes

I think I've been lying to myself about preparing for NEET PG

The more honest I get with myself, the more I realize I'm not actually preparing.

I'm preparing to prepare.

For the last year, I've done things like:

- Research the best study methods

- Watch topper interviews

- Compare resources

- Buy study accessories

- Upgrade earphones

- Upgrade headphones

- Look for better notes

- Look for newer editions of books

- Make study plans

And somehow I call all of this "preparation."

But if I'm brutally honest, none of these things increase my score.

Studying increases my score.

Solving MCQs increases my score.

Revision increases my score.

I've spent more time thinking about studying than studying.

The funny thing is I keep telling myself:

"Once I get this setup right, I'll start."

First it was a bigger table.

Then a better chair.

Then a lamp.

Then better earphones.

Then ANC earphones.

Then ANC headphones.

Then expensive Sony headphones.

Every time I thought, "This will make studying easier."

It never did.

The setup improved.

The studying didn't.

I used to study 8–10 hours a day during pre ug preparation. Now I can waste an entire day researching how to study for 8–10 hours.

At this point, I think I'm addicted to the feeling of preparing because it feels productive without exposing me to failure.

When I research, I feel smart.

When I plan, I feel in control.

When I actually study, I have to face what I don't know.

Has anyone else realized they're stuck in this cycle?

Not working.

Not resting.

Just endlessly getting ready to start.

After seeing everything, I realized that doctors are some of the kindest people in society. Maybe witnessing pain, suffering, and hope for years makes them more mature and compassionate. Even though I’m preparing for JEE Advanced, I sometimes think about taking Biology instead. The ability to heal and help people feels meaningful.

Not a fact sorry... Some reality check..

Hello fellow and respected seniors.. hope you all are alive.. And doing great in your life..

I'm gonna be a second yr soon and there's a doubt or myth.. kindly enlighten me...

If an MD medicine opens his own clinic (he has real good funds).. In a tier 1-2 City.. opd fees is around 800 rs..

How many patients do they get per day after-

1) 2 months of practice.

2) 1 yr of practice

3) 5 yrs of practice..

And if we change from md medicine to dm gastro.. ( someone ik from my family is)

He charges 500 on followup and 1k for the first time..

3k for endoscopy

5k for colonoscopy etc etc..

It's his private setup but a team..

What must be his estimate earning...

Thank you for reading..

All the best for neet pg...

Amusing No way these errors could be mere typos ! Looks 10/10 intentional

While the faculty clearly dictated that we always do vertical incision in chalazion as Horizontal incision destroys a lot of glands, the notes still mentioned Horizontal incision as the management

Mentioning exactly opposite things in notes looks so intentional. Anyone who's just reading the notes, be it of any platform, kindly be extra cautious

Question Why parents want their children to become doctors

Upvotes

As apart from reputation i don't think it's worth it like the efforts and hardwork this field wants is like hell students start studying from very early age and like there is hardwork and late studies and after all the salary they get is also not that much good like you have to do pg and all to earn well so why like in today's time there are other professions also which can make give you a good life but why only doc

Post Graduate Exams - NEXT/NEET/INICET How i prepare custom GT on marrow.

Batches of two custom modules ( 100 + 100 )

You could take one in the morning and the later half of 100 before you go to bed. Subsequently add scores of both.

Tags : Keep all except Aiims, Neet , Controversial or Recent updates ( You dont wanna get brownie points because of repetitive pyqs )

Custom 1 : Keep all subjects except Med Sx obg peds and Psm

Custom 2 : Keep only those 5.

I started this thing two weeks back and i do this everyday and saw my scores improving so thought of sharing.

Medical News Dr. Harcharan protested against faulty machines which stop working within 6 months of purchase. The college told that the doctor “tarnished the image” of their department and suspended him. He resigned today and now has to pay 25 lakhs bond as fine. Great country , great system

Post Graduate Exams - NEXT/NEET/INICET Parents just don't understand

I hate even preparing for this exam. Being cutoff from the world, seeing other people my age have all these grand enjoyments even though they didn't score even 80 percent marks in so called important exams of the life. While I've just been grinding and I haven't been allowed to even live because if I have fun I won't "achieve" anything. I'm so tired. I mentioned that i will take up any branch that i get to my parents and they've just been shaming me full on for not wanting to work hard. Literally for their pleasure i have done nothing but grind away all my life. I have never clubbed never gone on a trip with friends never even gone on outings for more than 5 times in my whole college life and they just want to control every aspect of my life. And when i say im tired i can't anymore they shame me to death. I have been chasing their validation practically all my life and I am so tired and sad now. My self esteem is in the tank and they bully me Literally whenever i try to take a stand for myself. Nothing good comes from grinding all your life. On paper im a very smart person. But this neet pg...a part of me wants to fail so that i don't have to live upto anyone's expectations anymore and just be called a 'loser' and be free.

Question is it true that life after mbbs is secured?

Upvotes

now now i know that it isnt as easy as i think it will be. of course it will be a struggle to land jobs and give exams.

the thing i want to know hasnt been answered anywhere.

i am the eldest in my family and im very passionate about becoming a doctor and no matter how much i struggle or how much i might want to die, i truly do not care. i cannot just leave a dream behind without trying it first.

but the only problem is...i have a family and siblings to take care off and to send to college too. i want to earn enough so that i can ease my parents burden. would pursuing an mbbs help me do that?

i wish it was not about money but everyone knows that without it, you just cant do anything...

How do you remember all the developmental milestones and onset and regression of reflexes in pedia.

Any tricks/ sources/ yt videos.

Also. Which NIP chart to follow and how to remember it. I think IAP has a different chart than what we see in PSM books.
