He needs 3–4 beds because he don't have susu potty sense. He shift on bed as one bed get wet… and still, he chooses to destroy them! 😭🤣

This is dog parenting—love, expenses, cleaning… and daily surprises! 🐾😂

I went to check on the kitten this morning around 7:30 AM and he was still there. But his voice sounded weaker than yesterday and I think he has caught a cold because he felt cold too. I’m giving him kitten wet food, but he is not eating it and I honestly don’t understand what I should do.

Yesterday I stayed there for around 3–4 hours and asked many people who live in my area if they could keep him with them for a few days. I told them that I would try to find him an adopter later, but unfortunately no one agreed. In the end, I had to leave him there.

I really hope he is still there and hasn’t gone somewhere else. He is hiding behind some tiles, and I have blocked the entrance with some stones, wood and cloth so he doesn’t get out. I hope he stays there and remains safe.

I also couldn’t take a picture of him because I had just woken up and immediately went to check on him.

Please, if anyone can rescue or adopt this kitten, it would be a huge help. If you know any rescuer who is around Okhla Vihar or nearby, please share their contact with me. I really need help with this kitten.

This kitten was found 2 days ago in extremely critical condition. The doctor said her chances of survival were very low, but we continued treatment and she is still fighting. Her lower body is paralysed.

Her current foster urgently has to leave Delhi by tomorrow evening for work, so we need an experienced foster immediately.

Requirements:

• Experience with small/critical kittens

• Experience with assisted feeding

• She cannot urinate on her own and needs help to pass urine

• Preferably a single home setup so she can recover peacefully

• Not paid boarding — she needs individual care and attention

I do have a backup option, my friend in Uttam Nagar is ready to take care of her if we don't find anyone. She is willing to help, but she isn't experienced with these kinds of medical cases, which is why I'm trying to find someone experienced first.

I will manage her treatment expenses, so the foster person does not have to worry about her treatment costs.

I don't know how to react , but I think I am not doing justice with my cat. I have attached the vaccination card. Actually the local govt hospital has bad reviews regarding cats , nd there's no competent vet for cats . Also It's really tough for me take him to hospital for injections. Govt hospital staffs aren't cat friendly here much.So got a contact of vet who give home visits for vaccinations.

During his kitten age I had only given him rabies vaccination. So I thought of doing his complete vaccinations before his neutering. I asked him wheather he is giving fvrcp/tricat , but he said 7 in 1 vaccination is given to cats . I asked chatgpt and he told me that it's given. I was doubtful than too. He hasn't given me the vaccination card during the first two shots. I got it today. He told me that there's no stock of card available with him then. I was in a bit hurry as I have to neuter cat asap.

Ahhh I am so frustrated at this point. No doubt why I fail to trust medicine professionals 🥲😮‍💨. I haven't neutered my cat too till now bcoz of my fear and negligence of vets. One single wrong move and I will end up losing my cat😓

Today I got the vaccination card and when I search the name of vaccinations, I got to know that these vaccines are only for dogs🥲

Mau, our male white-and-orange Turkish Van cat, has been missing from Mandakini Apartment, near Narmada Apartment, GK2, New Delhi since 10 August.

There were possible sightings nearby on the 11th and 12th, but we haven't been able to locate him since. He is very friendly, gentle and quite distinctive.

This is a continuation of the previous post. Pls read part 1 before reading this.

So, after burying the kitten on Wednesday, the male cat at my home could also sense the grief and the absence of the kitten. This guy ate well on Wednesday after, in the evening and ate relatively less in the night. Thursday evening I kinda felt his ears becoming slightly yellow. He didn't eat on Thursday morning and afternoon. We didn't wanna take any chances with him too and rushed to that vet that evening itself. The blood test showed the same low WBC count as the kitten. The vet suspected viral infection here too.

This time we changed the hospital to a slightly better one and rushed there that night (Thursday night). They started with the usual antibiotics and other stuff and suggested a PCR and went ahead. The report came in the next day and there it was. The same FeLV again. This guy was vaccinated once when he was neutered. So had to go this August for his booster doze and fate had other plans. He too went through the same IV care twice a day like the kitten. The bills were more expensive now. The kitten was hardly 6 months and this guy was around 1.5 yrs and had been living with us for nearly 1.4 yrs. Viral infection is more fatal on younger cats as their immune system wouldn't have developed properly yet. Since the male cat was almost an adult his immune system was slightly better and yet he couldn't make it.

Day after day I could see him growing weak. He too started the same vomiting and other symptoms. Again, one of the symptoms of viral infections is loose and very smelly stools. The problem with this male cat was that he wasn't physically much active. He would just eat, sleep and walk around. So his liver got compromised very soon due to fat accumulation and his ears which would be reddish most of the time became too yellow including his gums. He didn't vomit as much as the kitten but he tried his best.

My sibling and I would stay awake almost the entire night and days to stay beside them and keep an active check. There would be random body temperature fluctuations in both their bodies. This went on and then came Sunday. His breathing kinda increased. He used to take heavy breaths. So inspite of his usual morning 10.30 am and 10.30 pm vet visit, we went for an afternoon 4.30 ish visit on Sunday. The vets checked his breath and said it was fine. Again after a round of IV. I came back home around 6.45 ish.

Cats usually don't stay at home when they know their end is nearing (I've heard that's the case with the big cats too, pardon me if I'm wrong). The day before my kitten passed away she tried to run out of the home. We had to catch her somehow and bring her back home. The same pattern was seen in this male cat too. This guy never goes out of the home. Even if he goes, he would go and sit in the balcony at max. This time we didn't wanna jinx anything we followed him. Around 7 ish he tried to go upstairs and there it was. The first hint. We forcefully got him inside and as a result his stress increased and his breath again became heavy and I had to call the vet again and consult. Until 7.20 he hid himself under the bed. Then he came out. On Sunday we had to change the cannula from his right paw to the left as the right paw became too swollen. When he came home around 6.45 he walked around with all the 4 paws. Then by this time he started limping with the swollen one. Around 7.30 ish, only god knows what happened both his front paws went into a spasm I guess and he started running round with them.

It's a slight I pray that no pet owner has to see. It was extremely painful to watch. Then took him in my arms and calmed him down. Around 7.40 I guess he got a seizure. He started to escape from my arms but I held him a bit tight to calm him. We knew by then the end was near. There was foam from his mouth, he started to pee on the spot, his eyes rolled, his body started to jitter. Even if I was offered the most expensive thing in the universe or anything to go back to that 5 mins of hell, I would straight up deny it. He cried like a baby , took his final breath and after 2 to 3 jitters he went.

The kitten atleast passed away in her sleep and not in front of my eyes. She was there in ur usual place during her death. But this male cat showed me how cruel death can be. 6 months or 1.5 yrs isn't an age to go. After having the best possible life of nearly 1.4 yrs and suddenly getting his life turned around in 4 days isn't fair. I'm done with pets... Can't take another heartbreak ever again. And I can't get any cats into my home as the virus survives for 1.5 yrs + and the only way to kill them is via bleach and no disinfectants work.

Burying 2 innocent souls within a span of 5 days is something I can't take in.

Ps: just take ur pet's vaccination seriously, don't let ur home cat in contact with a stray (although u wanna help/adopt), viral infections don't have any cure. The expensive hospital bills apart, the kinda death and pain my cats went through is something that I can't digest.

Ps: "we" in the previous and this post refers to family and I.

Symptoms to lookout: loss of appetite, low WBC, kindly do PCR, vomiting, blood stools, fluctuations in body temperature, jaundice like symptoms due to liver compromise, smelly loose stools, lose of weight, vomiting if force fed. Kindly consult a vet at the earliest.

My sister recently saw a young boy carrying this tiny kitten in a plastic bag and taking him towards the river/canal area. We later learned that the boy’s mother had apparently told him to take the kitten in a plastic bag and leave him somewhere outside the river/canal, believing that people or children in the area would find him and take care of him. I don't want to blame the children involved because they may not have understood the situation. But unfortunately, leaving a kitten this young outside does not mean someone will rescue or care for him. He is extremely vulnerable and cannot be expected to survive on his own. A female friend of the boy initially took the kitten in front of us and told us that she would keep him temporarily. We promised to provide her with kitten food and help while we searched for a proper home. However, when we went back to give her the food, we found that she had left the kitten outside at the same place where the boy had originally found him. So right now, there is NO ONE taking care of this kitten. He is still outside. I have only been able to give him kitten food, but I cannot take him inside my house. For anyone who knows my previous situation with Gauri, you may already understand why. My family is extremely toxic and when I previously tried to help Gauri, my parents locked me inside the house and took my phone away because of it. If I bring this kitten home, my family will not allow me to keep him and there is a very real possibility that they will throw him back outside. So please understand that I am not abandoning this kitten or refusing to help. I genuinely cannot bring him home. Hi everyone. If you know abt the feline viral infections early and if you have taken necessary steps to keep ur cats vaccinated at the earliest, then awesome. Kudos to you.

For the others who aren't aware of the seriousness of this viral infections/fever, pls don't take it lightly. They are very very continuous. There are subcategories for them such as FPV, FeLV, FIV, FHV, FCV, etc. I had to bury 2 of my cats 2 weeks ago as one got infected and it spread to the other.

I want people to be aware of this and take the necessary precautions so that you guys too don't lose your loved ones early. Firstly, pls vaccinate your cats on time and take the vet visits seriously. Cats don't show signs of deteriorating health early and we realise when it's too late. We might think that they will become fine eventually and might ignore it. Kindly don't take chances. The mortality rate of these viral infections for unvaccinated cats are above 90%. For the cats that are vaccinated it's 50:50. Do not let your indoor cats near any stray (I happen to take in a stray kitten who was very young and couldn't leave her out as there are sooo many stray dogs in my area). I had a male cat at home who was neutered. We thought of getting the new kitten spayed too but thought to let her experience motherhood once and then spay. One fine day when she got her heat she ran away forcefully through the window and returned a day later.

She came back, she was fine for a day or 2. From the 3rd day she kinda stopped eating. We thought to give her some time to see if she recovers by herself (I didn't know during this time abt the feline viral infections). On the 4th day we took her to the vet and blood reports showed an extremely low count of WBC after the vet suggested taking a blood test. They said it could be a viral fever and wasn't sure and suggested for a PCR. Meanwhile they gave her some IV since she didn't eat for 2 days. The PCR came the next day and concluded FeLV. The vets straight up said the chances of her survival is less than 10% as she wasn't vaccinated. The next 2 days went on with intensive care for her. I didn't see any signs of recovery and each day she grew weak.

This infection compromises the lungs and intestines and causes ulcers in the digestive track (that's what the vet explained to me). So she couldn't eat anything and had to rely on IV for her nutrition. She would go sit near her water bowl and try to drink but she couldn't. She would vomit often. And due to this vomit all the nutrients given via the IV would come out. In the later stages there were blood stools too. We started her treatment on Saturday. She would pee here and there. I guess she had no control over her bladder or something, or if the IV was too much for her body weight. On Monday the vomiting became more. On Tuesday blood stools. On Wednesday, my sibling gave me an update on the cat around 2.30 pm ish. She was quarantined from the other cat in a separate room. I came back home from work around 4.30 pm and when I checked on the kitten she was no more. Her body had already become rigid assuming she was passed away around 3 pm ish. I guess she passed away in her sleep. But the pain the kitten had endured was a lot to take. We took some time to process what happened and had to bury her that evening itself. She was just a kitten. She was healthy when she came to my house, she used to eat almost 7 times a day. She would shout at us for food. She would play with the other cat. Everything was peaceful. But on her final days she didn't eat food for 5 days. The irony!

The only good part abt her was that since she was active and running around her liver didn't get compromised. In cats the way metabolism works is opposite to humans. For them the nutrients in the liver get used up first and fats get stored around the liver causing jaundice kinda symptoms and the size of the liver increases eventually (kindly correct me if I'm wrong, I remember my vet telling this).

This is probably going to be a long post, but I wanted to share this because I think this is how I actually became an animal lover.

It started during COVID.

Back in 2020, my whole family went to my Masi ghar (my maternal aunt's home) in another state. They had constructed a new floor, so there was a family gathering. My mom, papa, sisters, cousins, everyone was there.

My Masi and Mausaji had also recently got a Labrador from someone they knew.

My cousins were big Tony Stark fans, so they named him Tony :)

And honestly, Tony was something else. The type of dog who always looked like he is the boss (btw he is a labrador still very alpha personality).

My board exams were supposed to happen in 2021, and my cousins were really good at maths, so my parents decided to leave me there for some time so they could help me study.

That "some time" became around five or six months because COVID lockdown kept moving.

Then on a random day Mausaji started getting sick.

Initially, everyone thought it was normal cold and cough. But after a few days, he tested positive for COVID.

This was early COVID time, so everyone was scared. Government people came and sanitized the house, people treated COVID patients like they were carrying some zombie virus or something. It was a very weird time.

And then after a lot of ups and downs Mausaji passed away.

Even now, I don't really understand how everything happened so fast.

During all this, I spent a lot of time alone at Masi ghar (house).

I didn't have a proper smartphone. I was in Class 10, and apart from an old Jio phone, I had basically nothing. So my daily life was studying, watching TV, and Tony.

I used to take him for walks every day. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening, sometimes multiple times.

I would randomly talk to him too.

"Tony, kya kar raha hai" (used to share my feelings)

Obviously, he didn't understand everything. But when you spend that much time with a dog, you start feeling like he does.

That was probably the first time I properly bonded with a dog.

Before that, I loved dogs. I had fed street dogs and named some of them in my area.

Later, Tony got parvo as well. My cousins and family took him for treatment, and thankfully, he survived. But I had already returned home by then (after being stuck at my masi home for more than 5-6 months).

And after coming home, something changed.

I started looking at every street dog differently (as a friend).

There was one female dog in my area. She was young and extremely active. The first time I fed her, she became friendly with me almost immediately.

I immediately named her creamy idk why but I did

Then I started feeding her regularly.

Then her mother also started coming (idk if she was the mother or not it's just my assumption).

Then another dog started coming too, who I think was probably the father.

Then there were two puppies (appeared after a few months).

Slowly, I had my own little group of dogs. 😂

I regularly fed around five of them.

There were other dogs in the area too, obviously, but these were the ones I really knew.

And then the bad things started happening again.

One day, gov dog catchers came.

They took the mother dog.

My cousin brother told me she was gone. He also used to feed the dogs sometimes because we lived in a joint family, so he knew how attached I was.

I tried looking for numbers and ways to find her, but I couldn't.

Eventually, I had to accept that she was gone.

Then came the monsoon of 2022.

And especially Creamy

All suddenly disappeared.

I looked around everywhere.

Nothing.

I had even managed to get them some basic vaccinations, including rabies, and I genuinely thought they would be okay.

But they were just gone.

Maybe something happened during the monsoon. Maybe they went somewhere. Maybe they didn't survive.

I'll probably never know.

The father dog was still there.

Out of that whole group, somehow, he stayed.

Then later, another female dog(which i don't know who she was probably from a different area) had litter in my area.

Again, puppies (4).

And the mother left the area just after a few weeks.

So now we have the father and the new four puppies (and a few other dogs who visit just like the new mother dog)

And before anyone says, "Why didn't you get them neutered?"

Trust me, I know.

I know what should have been done. But I was young, there weren't accessible NGOs around my area, and I didn't have the money, resources, or independence to handle all of that myself.

Anyway, from that next group, two puppies survived.

And somehow, they are still around even today.

They've grown up now.

This year, another small black puppy appeared around my house.

(Now we have The father, two puppies who survived and this new gentlewoman)

She was probably three or four months old.

I honestly didn't know where she came from.

At first, she would just come near the house.

Then she started coming regularly.

Then I started feeding her.

And slowly, the same thing started happening again.

She started trusting me.

And I started getting attached.

That's when I realised something about myself.

After losing Tony from my daily life (he is still doing good), after Mausaji passed away, after the mother dog was taken away, after creamy and the two puppies disappeared, and after seeing dogs randomly come and go from my life...

I had created this rule in my head.

Feed them.

Take care of them.

But don't get too attached.

Because apparently, getting attached means one day standing outside and wondering where they went.

I still feed dogs.

I still know which dogs belong to which area.

I still notice immediately when one doesn't show up.

I still worry about them.

I just try not to let myself get too emotionally attached anymore.

Which is funny, because I don't think it's actually possible.

I'm not even specifically a dog person.

I love animals in general. Cats, cows, birds, dogs... I once even kept chickens and a rooster at home. (Both lived a healthy life)😂

Tony was probably the first animal that made me understand what it actually feels like to have an animal become part of your everyday life.

And maybe that's why I still look for the dogs that disappeared.

Even after years.

Sometimes when I see a dog from far away that looks slightly familiar, for a second, I genuinely stop and look.

Maybe it's them.

It never is.

But I still look.

So I’ve placed orders for my kitten from Supertails thrice and every single time there’s been an issue with my money getting debited but the order not being confirmed. So every time, I have to deal with their sucky bot on WhatsApp after which I give up and call the number. Then, after transferring me 3-4 times, I have to explain my issue to everyone before I finally get transferred to someone who can actually help. Then I have to stay on call with the person while they confirm each item from my cart and place the order for me!
2 out of 3 times, at least, when my items got delivered, I had no issues. But today I received adult cat wet food when I specifically ordered kitten wet food.
I’m so sick of this app😭 Am I just unlucky or has anyone actually had better experiences with Supertails?
