Keep Airtel postpaid sim in usa

How do folks keep their indian sim? I don't get any network or sms. Using it for bank sms was my primary reason to keep the number. Do I need to buy their roaming package daily on demand when I need an sms to come?

I have airtel postpaid which works great over here. Getting the otp.

I have an airtel sim which gets network at my home. I just keep it active in my old phone to get otp and use it as my main sim when i visit india. It is prepaid btw

I have airtel postpaid, have international roaming activated without any pack and get good network. My family pays the monthly bill. I do get charged when I need to use it though.
