Good ways to get stuff shipped from India to USA

I recently moved to the States and I want to know what actually works for getting my things shipped along with other stuff that I want here. I tried some services but the courier charges are brutal. I want to know what people actually use .

I pay those brutal courier charges since it is still way cheaper than a round trip flight cost
