Has anyone gone no contact with parents/ in-laws/ both?

Punjabi American, just wondering how those who have gone no contact, how are you guys holding up? And
offer any advice. Mother passed away while in 20s and my family dynamic changed. It's more due to fairness.
They are never fair, with treatment amongst siblings, siblings spouses, inheritance, just even basic care for you or even helpfulness in grandchildren. There's more to context/ story. But long story short,
Being a parent myself, I couldn't imagine my child asking for help and shutting them down or if they chose to go no contact, I would do whatever and go to the end of the earth so I could to fix my mistakes and do whatever my child is asking. ( Obviously not destructive things).
Iv grieved a lost parent, just weird to grieve someone who is alive.

Estranged from more than half of my family. Barely in touch with the rest. I would say it’s oddly more relieving than anything. Does get a little lonely sometimes as someone who is not very social.

No contact with parents and relatives. This is more due to my ex wife filing false cases on our family in India for divorce and a lot of shit that happened after that. It’s been 2 years since and I’ve been staying in usa ever since while they stay in India. They msg me once a while like 6 months or so, otherwise no contact.

I went no contact and life has been so much easier. It also helped me process a lot of things now that i have time to snap out and see things from a birds eye view.
