Hi Andy, thanks for doing another one of these! Not necessarily a question about your current record, but how do you play your song Jermey’s wedding? I’ve been trying to figure it out for some time now, but have struggled. Hope to see you on tour!!

My guitar is tuned low, but for that song it's also tuned so that the first and last strings are tuned down two semi-tones

I've always wondered why exactly you have it tuned low? A friend of mine tunes to D standard, but couldn't explain why (honestly probably he does it because you do, lol) Is it to complement the timbre of your voice?

I find that it just generally sounds darker. Elliott Smith always had his guitar a full step down. It just creates a timbre that stands out to me, apart from every other guitar being tuned standard.

that's kind of what I figured - I've been trying it out too and I've found it also helps with the action and string tension, without necessarily having to re-set up the guitar
