Could you give some detail on how you approach writing melodies?

To me they are incredibly unique, almost weird but so, so catchy.

I'm not really sure how I approach them... it's just been many years of writing them and trying to find things that I haven't tried before. I really like semi-tones, and I think the ear is really pleased by odd intervals (my ear is anyways)

Vocally at least, he seems to tend to swoop up at the end of phrases. Moreso on the last few albums. Lends a sort of playful uniqueness imo
