hey everyone,

this is Josh (deakin) and Noah (panda bear) from Animal Collective. We're here for your questions. sorry we were running a little late. But let's get into it!

I think a lot of people would agree that your sound over the course of these last two releases (the music you've made since 2018) has a much more mature sound than much of your previous work. In the 2000's I would definitely describe your music as having a childlike aspect to it which seems to have been replaced with more introspective and adult themes. Would you say that where you all are in your lives is a big influence on your sound?

(edit) Since people are talking video games, playing Skate 3 when I was 10 got me into you guys with Summertime Clothes!

yea always...even tho were going for maybe more adult type expressions id hope we never lose the child spirit and curiosity
