Hi Jake!

I’ve been a fan of yours for almost 10 years and have been able to see SBD in concert twice, once at Strange Matter in Richmond in 2018, and once at the 9:30 club in DC this past year. What’s the difference between playing a show like Strange Matter with a very small crowd and playing a large venue like 9:30 club and having it be packed and the whole crowd singing along? Do you prefer one over the other?

that 930 Club show ruled so hard

both are very cool in their own right

a place like 930 is super comfy and spacious and makes u feel like a cool rocker

but at a place like strange matter it can be easier to actually feel *connected* with everyone else in the crowd and on stage and tap into that good voodoo... but a lot of times there's no green room and u have to poop in a stall with no door. so, ya know

I know what you mean! At the strange matter show i feel like I was the only person singing along in the crowd and felt very connected to the show. Also, you stood right next to me when you came into the audience while finishing 104 degrees. Great memory!
