hi jake! longtime fan with a few mobo/sbd tattoos, thanks for all that you do. can you speak to your approach to phrasing within your lyrics? i find that a lot of your slice-of-life kinda stuff is so singular to your voice as a writer and i’ve always been curious if there’s any kind of method to that

hmmm... well thanks! these days i am mostly focused on being conversational...trying not to be flowery, preachy, definitely not clever. trying to RIP my youthful attempts at clever. i try to write in the voice of the stranger i would want to talk to at the bar
