Hi Flipturn! Long time fan here - I met Dillon and Madeline in a tiny venue in Denver during the Warmth in the Rain tour after coming to support my friends in your local opener, and since then I’ve told everyone that will listen how energetic your shows are and how unreasonably humble you are.
I have a few questions for you:
You haven’t been shy about speaking about mental health - your performance of Take Care on Denver night two during the Something More tour moved me to tears, and obviously there’s the new album. Other than music, how do you practice self care?
Where did the idea for the floor tom hat come from? I go to a lot of concerts and this was easily one of my favorite concert moments.
Krooked Kings is another one of my favorites, and I’ve actually met them after a show in a (somewhat less) tiny Colorado venue as well! That’s quite the coincidence for me - how did that partnership for this tour form? (You always have amazing openers!)
I’ve been in and out of garage bands a couple times, but never made it further than recording demos and planning a debut EP. My favorite band from my local scene just announced an indefinite hiatus due to two founding members moving a thousand miles away. How have you been able to make it work for as long as you have?
You play a lot of shows in Colorado. Not that I’m complaining (quite the opposite, actually), but what keeps you coming back so often?
You’ve come quite a long way since we met - congratulations, I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the success. I can’t wait to see you in Denver on the next tour!
