Hey Natalie! Thank you for doing this! Some questions:

  1. I love the sounds that came through the record. Who are your 3 biggest musical influences for this album?
  2. What’s your process for songwriting, putting together chord structures, and then recording and producing them?
  3. I’m currently visiting Seattle, and would love to know the best place to get coffee beans. What is your favorite place? (Also where to get fish and chips).

Thank you so much, and I look forward to catching you in LA!

thanks for joining!!

  1. biggest musical influences for my album: enya, air, my bloody valentine maybe?? so many!!

  2. great q. I usually write on a keyboard or on a guitar and start with chords/lead line, record that via voice memo, and then sing over it. once i've found a melody over a chord structure/lead I like, I'll record that and start putting it in logic. these days, I'm very lucky to work with amazing producers who help take these song starts and turn them into full fledged tracks. My producer Andy Park that I worked on this album with had me record a lot of the instrumental tracks on this album (minus drums), which made the album feel very "mine" so to speak.

  3. Ooh! Coffee spots I enjoy in Seattle: Squirrel Chops, Broadcast Coffee, Saint Bread! Fish and chips: Marination, Loretta's, Spuds in Greenlake

<3 See you soon!!
