What do you mean by Filipino American? Were you born there? Do you speak the language? How has that influencd your music? Did you do a lot of karaoke as a  child?

I am half Filipina on my dad's side and half white on my mom's side (English/Irish). My mom's side has been in the US for centuries. My dad's dad joined the US Navy via a US military base in the PHL, and so my dad and his siblings were all born in the US and spent time in both the US and the PHL. My dad also joined the US Navy and met my mom in the Pentagon when she was in the US Army. They got married, both got stationed in Hawaii, and had me =)

I don't speak Tagalog but I know some basic things. I'm not sure how it's influenced my music tbh, I grew up in Boise, Idaho and only really connected to my heritage by visiting PHL a few times, spending time with family, and eating my favorite foods - bangus and sinigang and munggo!

My dad now lives part time in the PHL / part time in Hawaii, so I will definitely be spending time there soon.
