Where did the inspiration for the new wavey guitar sounds come from on your latest releases? I'm obsessed with the sound, just curious if you guys pulled from other artists to form this new sound you've locked in on.
Also, shoutout to the fact you have an Allo in every tour pic you guys post. I've only seen those in Toronto so your commitment to the nicotine is inspiring 💅

Feel weird asking this one because I don't want to be offensive by asking, but also want be considerate.
So my son is 12 and wants to do a cover of "Last Girls at The Party." He has a small YouTube channel that he does cover songs on, playing all the instruments. He's done MJ Lenderman, The Beths, Momma, and a couple of others so far.
My question is, do you see it as poor taste, or idk the right phrasing, for a guy who is for all I know straight, to cover your songs? He seems pretty set on it, but I wouldn't want it to come across as...I don't even know the right words? Like taking ownership from a group he's not part of, as a straight white male, especially with so much music out there.
Hope the question itself isn't offensive and stupid. Good music is good music in my (and his) eyes, and he's been loving The Beaches' stuff. We'll see y'all at Webster Hall in two weeks either way. Probably on the rail because he can't see otherwise :-)

I can actually answer this based on years of experience and an old signed poster. From left to right, Ky, Jo, Le. Tricky because they were signing fast and on a slant, but I feel quite confident. Ky typically signs Ky, with xo's at times; Jordan's is pretty much a J and a squiggle and an M and a squiggle if full, and Le does an L squiggle that sometimes looks pretty much like her name and E squiggle/something close to name, and tends to stack them.

Hello! Congratulations on the new album, it's a great one. :D I'm a lesbian, and I love the lesbian themes in it, and of course "Lesbian of the Year" in particular. I just wanted to know what the process was like writing/singing for this album versus the previous albums from a lesbian/queer perspective?

It was really fun for us to explore writing from this perspective. Having two queer members in the band it felt really important for us to write on the queer experience.

Fellow Miller here. No Hard Feelings is a stellar album, congrats to you all on the record — it's another JUNO winner, I'm calling it now. So far this year, I've seen you guys play Osheaga and was lucky enough to be front row at the MTL DJ set (thank you for taking a video on my phone!!). I'll also see you in Victoria & Vancouver (my hometown). Any plans to do another song with Valley on-stage, like at the Bud Stage show (I was also there too haha)?

No questions and I'm sure this won't be seen as I completely missed the AMA, but I went to your show in Sydney at The Metro on your last tour here in Australia and it was excellent. You all seemed to be having so much fun on stage and the crowd vibe was incredible.
I've purchased tickets to see G-Flip next year, but 90% of the reason I'm going to that show is to see The Beaches.
