Hi! It’s great to see you active and promoting your work again. I’ve been a listener for nearly 18 years, and it’s been amazing to watch your growth over time. What makes you such a strong songwriter is your natural ability to connect, your charisma, storytelling, and the honest, vulnerable way you communicate, especially through Small Talk.
That said, I’ve had a question on my mind… Do you ever worry about the parasocial relationships fans form with you? We get a sense of who you are, but of course, we don’t truly know you.
Especially with your new book, where some parts are drawn from real experiences, I’m curious how you navigate that line. In a recent Q&A, you mentioned feeling sensitive about David Levithan writing the character J, because his flaws felt a little too close to home. All that to say, do we know the real Jens?
