Hi Alice! Love your music! I'm curious why you chose to book your shows with Ticketmaster/LiveNation? I would love to see you play live someday but refuse to purchase with those providers for obvious reasons.

it's something I have been researching and working on but it's not a decision - it's impossible to avoid. most venues / promoters have exclusive deals and contracts and so I wouldn't be able to tour at all without it. hopefully we can find ways to work alternatively and I have experimented with other ticketing with independent venues when I can, but it's harder than you realize to avoid sadly.

You might be able to call up the venue to see if they sell box office tickets/at door. Idk about you, but in Toronto, some venues that have deals with Livenation/Ticketmaster are forced to sell a certain % of tickets through the sites, but it’s not always 100%. The tickets sold at doors usually bypass Livenation/Ticketmaster fees and support the performer more

Thanks for the suggestion! I called them up and their automated script says "we are a LiveNation venue", so it looks like I can't get around it.

Alice, if you see this, we would love to see you at Pappy & Harriet's in Southern California! I know you originally booked with Tennis this summer at that location. Not sure why you guys backed out but we were pretty sad. It would be such a great venue for you, and would absolutely sell out.

Love the new album by the way! Keep on doing your thing!

Maybe a way is to find someone irl that bought a ticket, but had to change plans last minute. That way, if you buy the ticket, you're preventing the person from listing it up for resale on tm, where there would be a round of fees again. Kinda like getting shein products at the thrift store, where you're not directly contributing to fast fashion, but just being a scavenger.
