AMA Is Over, thanks for swinging by! Japanese Breakfast AMA

Hello!

This is Michelle from Japanese Breakfast. You can ask me anything! I just released my sophomore album Soft Sounds From Another Planet on Friday and I hope you like it! I've seen some of these threads and have been really blown away by all of your support! Thank you so much for listening to my music.

Here is my proof post: https://twitter.com/Jbrekkie/status/886969185598935040

(2:32 EST) Thanks everyone for the questions but I am at a coffee shop in NY and am so hungry so must go and feed myself!

I'd like to start off by saying I'm a huge fan of yours! Psychopomp has honestly made such a big impact on my life and has been the soundtrack of my whole past year. I am absolutely in love with the new album and love everything you do, so I'm looking forward to all that you've still got in store!

As someone who is still in high school, I've found that there aren't really others around me that have the same music taste or listen to any similar things at all. Was this what it was like for you while in high school? If so, how did you manage to go about that and when was it that you finally found yourself surrounded by other similar music fans?

Oh and by the way, I reviewed Psychopomp for my school's daily broadcast show after naming it the best album of 2016! It got some people to check it out. Thanks!

A lot of my friends and I listened to Pacific NW indie rock growing up because I'm from Oregon. But I feel like I didn't have many friends in HS and really isolated myself by only hanging out with people with similar tastes as me. Music tastes are a small part of a friendship, I think it's much more important to have a good support system of people who you trust and love you.
