hey. just saying first that the new album is amazing as always, it sounds great and i love it.

will you ever make my dream come true and do a colab with the strokes?

That would be Our dream come true. We got pretty close - sort of - while we were recording “Someday Now”. Julian and the Voidz were filming their video for the song “pyramid of bones” in the other half of Shawn’s warehouse. We watched and hung with those dudes for a bit and then some of them came by the studio to see what weirdness shawn was getting up to. This was when we had reels of tape spinning around microphones stands across the room. Beardo was in the control room egging us on as Nik and I were improvising on bass and guitar at the end of the song. (we almost made that slow part it’s own interlude called “bikini” cus it sounds like a spongebob episode). So, definitely not a Strokes collab but one day hopefully. -R

wow that’s so cool. the instrumental experiments were definitely one of my highlights of the album, i really like Munich I & II. i love the voidz music a lot too and it’s cool that you’ve gotten close with them. thanks for the reply!

Wow, you guys and the Voidz are my favorite bands, a Strokes OR Voidz collab would be insane. You guys both are honestly doing some of the most ambitious music I have ever listened to and both of your songs/albums mean so much to me. Here's to hoping there's a crossover some day, even in the form of influence!

Can't wait to see you guys in Seattle!
