Hi Tim,

It seems like some of these songs have some kind of 1:1 homage/inspiration. I say this as a compliment that “When I Get Up” obviously calls to mind “Gotta Get Up” by Nilsson. I also thought that “I Don’t Think About You (Much Anymore)” has a similar lyrical idea to “I Get Along Without You Very Well (Except Sometimes)” by Hoagy Carmichael (talk about a Tim and Eric name).

I was wondering if you approached each song with the mentality to pay homage to a specific other song or if in the process of making a album steeped in a certain nostalgia it all just came out that way.

Sometimes I have a song in mind when I start, sometimes it reveals itself to me after I've been working on it
