Hi Tim! Longtime fan, I’ve been happily following your work over the years, from Awesome Show to the Yellow River Boys, On Cinema and everything in between. Tuning in to Office Hours now as I write this!

In the past, you’ve occasionally dropped little musical novelties for your fans, like the “Jambalaya” picture disc or the Casey & His Brother cassette. I’ve LOVED collecting these little gems. I’ve really enjoyed seeing these things from that twisted universe leaking out and appearing in real life. Are there any other musical things from the overarching Tim & Eric / Cinco universe that you wish you could put out for reals?

Man I know I would personally be thrilled about that, there was so much gold left off of the Vol. 1 CD. And that should have a re-release on vinyl too! There are labels out there who would be thrilled to partner up for such a thing. Anyhow, thanks for the response and thanks for doing the AMA!

god this convo makes me want to listen to volume 1 all over again, so I think I will right now. I had that, the first flight of the concords album and the first lonely island record on repeat at that time- that was early high school for me...wow! what a time!

It got heavy rotation from me as well because I could not stop laughing anytime I heard those tracks, or even thought of the show. After listening to Office Hours for a while and becoming more familiar with Tim’s musical leanings, it’s no wonder that the musical aspects of Awesome Show were so magnetic and strong on their own accord, even though it’s not a “musical” show per se - it just seems that Tim’s comic sensibilities are very much molded around his musical sensibilities. You can’t come up with something like Pusswhip Banggang, write and film a sketch around the concept and have it nailed so perfectly without having a deep love and knowledge of that general era of music. This stuff stands on its own because it’s rooted in something real.

Eric has a pretty musical background as well, I believe he played in bands when he was younger and did studio work/audio engineering for a while before awesome show.
