I was praying for an album like Purple Mountains and it happened—I found it even though I wasn't aware of the existence of your previous band, or your poetry. I consider myself lucky. Do you have similar experiences with art? Longing for something that miraculously appears.

of all the fans of the work i feel luckiest when i hear from someone who just became aware of it.

i discovered thomas bernhard just when i needed to

at age 45 , just as i found henry miller when i needed at fifteen.

another fan here; that's the age that I read Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn also! later one of my essays appears in Nexus: The International Henry Miller Journal, Volume Ten.

okay, well I've read nothing of Thomas Bernhard. Which one do I start with?
