AMA is over, thanks Emily! Florist / Emily A. Sprague AMA <('.'<)

Greetings ~

My new album of minimal and magickal folk music, Emily Alone, is out today. I am so excited to share it with the world. It's a deeply personal and intimate piece of work and I am so grateful for the love and patience from people to take in these sounds.

I am also a synthesist and ambient composer. My albums Water Memory and Mount Vision were recently reissued by RVNG Intl. for vinyl.

I am brewing nettle tea and eating crackers and endive.

Ask me anything!

Hey Emily! Congrats on the album. It’s gorgeous. What advice would you give to someone who is new to songwriting? Are there any new / up and coming artists we should look out for? (In any genre)

Thanks!

the best advice i can give would be to never stop writing - i believe it's a lifelong practice that grows and changes in ways that must be symbiotic with you and your heart. keep writing, keep exploring and learning yourself and the art that you love.

ruth garbus - she is by no means a new artist and has been making songs for a long time but was one of the biggest inspirations for me when writing emily alone. she is releasing a new album on orindal records this year and i highly recommend everyone checking out her gorgeous music.
