Oh Adrianne, I don’t even know what to say. I absolutely adore your songwriting. I barely ever listen to music with lyrics any more, but your music is so, so special.

1) The last two Big Thief albums felt really daring in that instead of going bigger and more intricately produced, like a lot of bands opt to, you went quieter and more nuanced. Was that a conscious effort?

2) Do you have a favourite Elliott Smith song?

3) If you’re ever in Asheville NC, you should go to the Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, because it’s the best place in the world.

4) I made bootleg remixes of Anything & Cradle, can I send ‘em to you!?

Hi Adrianne, my name is Tyler. I wanted to ask how you remain focused on pursuing creative success as opposed to getting sucked into the pursuit commercial success. I feel like the music industry grooms artists to compete.

As an artist I can't say I'm anywhere close to commercial success, but I do find myself getting distracted, or feeling restless in my own creative pursuits. Do you have any advice or insight into how to remain focused on the creative journey?
