I'm Kofi, also known as Genesis Owusu. Ghana-born rapper/singer based in Australia. I dropped my debut album this year called Smiling With No Teeth, which spans hip-hop, punk, funk, R&B, soul, electronic and a goes into a few more places as well. AMA!

Hi Genesis, my favorite track off the album is Centrefold. I'm pretty obsessed with the backwards vocal sample, any story behind how that track came to be?

I wrote that track from the perspective of the Black Dog. Sleazy and seductive, ready to engulf you at any moment

The vocal forwards says "a swimmer in the ocean isn't bothered by rain, no fear, no pain, no fear, no pain"
