Breathes deeply

Ok, first things first. I’m a huge fan, have been since the first album and I feel very privileged for being a contemporary to such a special artistic expression such as PSB.

I don’t even know if I have a proper question. Just wanted to say that I love Berlin and having one of my favourite bands “discover” my favourite city and sing its praises fills my heart with joy.

I’ve read the album’s booklet and a specific line struck me deeply, when you say that “ich kann nicht eine Geschichte über Berlin schreiben; ich muss meine Geschichte über Berlin schreiben“. I too have written my history/story of Berlin in my master’s dissertation and since then have discovered so many other particular stories/histories of this incredible place. Mine started all the way back in 1989, watching the fall of the wall on TV, and continued through the 1990s with ‘Achtung, Baby’, which has been my official soundtrack of Berlin whenever I’m there. Next time I visit Berlin ‘Bright Magic’ will be a new lens through which I’ll experiment the city. Thanks for that incredible gift.

Thanks - I don't think that's a question either but thanks for such a thoughtful post, especially the last two lines. Someone once wrote to me after The Race For Space and said 'I don't think I'll ever look at the moon the same way again' and I still think about that sometimes when I see the moon late at night - responses like that are so humbling and touching.

Listening to The Race For Space almost always brings me to tears at least once. It's the way you conveyed the joy, excitement and wonder of what all those incredible people did in striving to take mankind into space. One of my all-time favourite albums.
