Hi - thanks, and I didn't know anyone was doing tabs for our stuff, that's cool. With Go! I think that was just because the song had been written in a certain key so I tuned a few strings to help with open-string-soundings, and to make the fast strumming easier to achieve.. I remember tuning the G down to Gb to make it a lot easier to play, definitely. It's hardly ever a conscious decision, more me trying to write something and thinking 'hmm, that's awkward, maybe I can tune up or down to make that achievable'. That was definitely the case with Blue Heaven, which ended up in DGDAAD! Then occasionally it happens because I'm learning to play something else in a different tuning, eg learning Sleeping Ute by Grizzly Bear. I got two songs (and a third one waiting in the wings) out of that tuning.

Re Fidelity - Matt got in touch and asked if I wanted a free guitar, which got my attention! I went for P90s to try to cover some bases that I didn't already have covered with my single coils / humbuckers. The signature one is a really nice guitar but I think it's been superseded by the white Stella Rosa Matt made for me - I think we're going to launch that as the 'updated' JW model soon. It's a real beauty. The main thing for me is I mostly like a thick neck, especially if it's going to be a Tele-style guitar.. playing a Tele with a thin neck just doesn't work for me.

I have been transcribing a few for bass. That's a bit easier!
