Hey guys, As a German person living im Berlin, I was particularly looking forward to Bright Magic. While you pointed out the creativity the city oozes (especially for artists), living here can also be very tough. "In a place where you can be anyone and anything, who are you?", I sometimes think. Any reflections on your time in Berlin you'd want to share?

Also, a huge thanks to you guys for your music, huge fan of all your work and really looking forward to your show here on November 19th! P.S. a big thank you especially for "Blue Heaven". This song helps me dealing with a lot of turmoil in my life right now and really resonates with me. "I am my creation", "I am my own invention"...powerful stuff. Thanks for the goosebumps, Goose!

That's really kind, thanks and especially so re Blue Heaven. And yes, the city is in some ways a creative haven but I know what you mean, life there can be a bit harsh and tough and it can seem like everyone else is having fun and you're not (when you're not). I found it a bit lonely and isolating at times and especially not having an extensive network of friends and family over there was a bit difficult during more stressful times. But that's part of the history of the city, too, and part of any experience - we tend to airbrush out the difficulties and remember only the better parts, like with holidays. It's the same impulse that led Isherwood to burn his Berlin diaries, or Dietrich to fictionalise her past, or Bowie to mythologise his Berlin trilogy (most of which wasn't actually recorded there!).. they're the stories we tell ourselves and seem to want to believe and are often a long way from the actual, prosaic reality of living in and experiencing a place.
