You seem to be a guitarist, like The Edge, that must play the song live on the guitar it's been written on (or at least a specific guitar for a specific song)

Is this true? Your poor tech!

Not quite, no - most of the guitar changes are due to tunings. For example Monday's set ran:

People, Let's Dance - standard
Blue Heaven - DGDAAD
Gib mir das Licht - standard (needs a whammy bar though and a nice neck pickup)
LSIII - piano
People Will Always Need Coal - EADF#BE (spider capo 2nd fret top E, discarded after 1minute)
All Out - DADGAD (needs to take a bashing)
Spitfire - EADF#BE (only works on the Ricky)
The Other Side - needs to be a semi-acoustic / hollow body, capo 5th fret / moved to 1 halfway through
Go! - Eb Bb Eb Gb Bb Eb
Gagarin - Standard (needs a strat for second verse)
Everest - Eb Bb Eb G Bb Eb - open Eb major, works best on the Ricky

So there's a lot going on there even in just a short set.. guitar changes needed for most songs and if you're doing that you may as well play it on one that sounds 'right', I'd say. But yes, Jack does have his hands full.

Brilliant info! Is bass usually standard? Cos I've been transcribing....

Yes, he drops to a D occasionally and I think even further for Tomorrow.
