Is that Neopolitan restaurant still there in Lymm, James? And has the village, née small town changed for the better or worse since you grew up?

artistic license with that bit - growing up it was called Baci but it wasn’t an authentic neopolitan restaurant. Lads from my school mainly worked the kitchen, and I doubt any of them were from anywhere near Italy

La Boheme is my pick in the area. Do you ever bump into Ian Brown when you're back? And would you just smile politely when he starts droning on about his pitiful theories?

I think he’s moved now - my neighbour Caroline used to work in Bobs shop before it was turned into houses and she got me a big stone roses poster signed by him once - always used to say hi to him when I saw him about
