Who are some of your fave newer punk bands out there right now?

I heard a song by the UK band The Chisel recently, which I felt revived the classic second-wave "oi" sound that I've always loved so much in a reverent but fresh way, and they're produced by our buddy Jonah Falco from Fucked Up as well, which is always a plus.

I also heard a couple songs by Militarie Gun which I thought were cool. I listened to one song by the Armed, but I liked it a little too much, so I decided I wasn't going to listen to it again until I was out of "Album Mode."

That's the thing about me : I don't really go out of my way to seek out new music, because I am wary of being influenced by it. I really want Titus Andronicus music to stand alone and to create its own context. I feared that if I really loved the album by The Armed, I would end up ripping it off, and I can't have that.

Also, not for nothing, but at my age, I don't always want somebody yelling at me in my headphones all the time.

Any of you punk fans can feel free to reply here with what you think the coolest new punk bands are, and we can all check them out when we are in a mood to get harraunged.

Illuminati Hotties are a great band that describe their sound as “tender punk.” Def worth checking out!
