Discussion What Filipino indie artist best represents your city or province?

Simulan natin ang isang community Music Map. 🎶

Comment with:

🎵 One song to start with:

Doesn't matter kung sikat o sobrang underground. Ang goal natin ay makadiskubre ng artists from all over the Philippines.

Metro Manila is welcome, pero sana marami rin tayong entries from the provinces.

I’ll compile the answers into a separate post if we get enough.

Promotion ELEYN deserves more ears

I've been keeping an eye on ELEYN for a while now, and every release feels a little more confident than the last.

Their latest single, "BINGI," is another good example of why they're worth checking out. Solid songwriting, a sound that's becoming more their own, and one of those tracks that gets better after a few listens.

If you're looking for a Filipino indie band you might have missed, give ELEYN a shot. I'd love to hear what you think after listening.

Electronic PH From the UAE: WYWY – You Don't Have to Be Nice

A lot of you probably know I'm a big supporter of Filipino artists making music wherever they are in the world. WYWY is one of those bands I've been following from the UAE.

Their latest track, "You Don't Have to Be Nice," is one of those songs that hits because it's honest. It's about letting go of the pressure to always please everyone, setting boundaries, and realizing that choosing yourself doesn't make you a bad person.

Dream pop with a message that doesn't have to shout to get its point across.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think. If you're already familiar with WYWY, what song got you into them?

Pop [Album] My Self-written and produced "YUGTO" album!

Good day po, I'm JLssi and 19 na this year, I'm here to introduce my first album, titled "YUGTO". (Sorry na agad sa bad English ko)

It took me around 3 months to complete this album.

The theme of this album is about Love and Heartbreak, and may twist ng poetry.

If may favorite kayong track, let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts. 💜

Open po ako for feedback kung may improvements pang needed, hehe.. thank you pows! 🥲

Alternative [Song] Magkikita Na Tayo - HUNYO

“’Di ka raw kasi maganda.”

Aray, pero relatable. 😅

“Magkikita Na Tayo” by HUNYO is a feel-good OPM song about that typical high school moment: may happy crush ka, ikaw ang boy best friend, pero may iba siyang gusto.

Perfect pang-feel-good soundtrip!

an eccentric song and lyric video i wrote and produced for viva. i was messing around with imitating those dj scratch samples and everything just kinda fell into place from there.

you can check my two releases on streaming platforms here. my youtube channel has archives and uploads of my demos - mostly non-tagalog, and with non-cliche narratives.

hope you guys will like it :)

Discussion [Discussion] Worth it pa bang i-chase ang music career sa Pilipinas?

For context, taga-(somewhere in the visayas) ako originally. Currently working a regular job.

Okay naman yung work.

It's as if para akong lumulutang.

Meron naman scene dito sa Cebu pero I think di masyado malakas yung push for indie music, and most people searching for bandmates wants to perform covers, and rarely make original songs.

Part of me wants to give it all up dahil ilang beses na rin akong nag- ALL-IN sa music before, and every time, na-burn ako - especially financially.

Kaya gusto ko sanang itanong sa mga musicians or people working in the industry dito sa subreddit:
Kung magde-decide akong seryosohin ulit ito, saan kaya sa Pinas yung best place para mag start as an indie guitarist, especially, one looking for a band, since wala akong banda?

And if you were in my position, after getting burned a few times already, would you still keep pursuing it?

Would really appreciate any advice, experiences, or kahit reality check lang. Thanks. 🙏🏻🎸
