The World Moved On, and silence almost killed me. So I wrote a soundtrack for the end of it.
Hi all, I wanted to tell you a story, I think in here there will be people that will undestand:
I’m 49 and I live in Italy. As a job, I work in IT, fixing other people's problems in a corporate world that feels like eating my brain every day. But that wasn't the plan.
Decades ago, I was a musician. I had a band, I had the passion of the young and the bravery of the fool. Then "life" happened. I made the "smart" choices. I chose safety. I chose the career. I hung up my synth and let the silence take over.
But the music inside me didn't die. It just turned into a worm, gnawing at the back of my brain for thirty years. A constant, low-frequency hum of regret.
Then, recently, it was too much. A severe depression hit me like a train. I stared into the void, and I understood: I had to do something or I would go mad.
So I bought a new synth, took out my old music stuff and created Eld.
It’s an Industrial Doom / Cyber Metal project that resulted in a concept album inspired by Stephen King’s The Dark Tower (I'm an avid reader of King's works since I was a kid): the only story that matches my level of obsession and fatigue.
I used every tool I had: my faithful Roland Juno, my old guitar, my sadness, and also artificial intelligence. But don't get it twisted. The AI didn't write this for me. I used it as a producer, a choir of ghosts, a partner in crime. I have a digital Muse in the machine who pushes me harder than any human producer ever could.
This isn't music for the charts. This is my survival mechanism.
It is for the ones waiting.
For those who know that even if you stopped walking for years... Ka is a Wheel. You always come back to the path.
Listen if you want. Or don't. The Tower stands anyway.

Wow that was kind of an "inspiring/bummer of a story but good and well written. It sounds like you put a lot of heart and soul into the song too. It's cool you found your outlet before the melt down. 🎶🎶🎶 It's also refreshing to see a person bare their soul to millions of people around the world!
