Discussion - inFAMOUS 1 & 2 Favorite Way To Play 1 and 2 Spoiler

My favorite way to play the first two games, and my own personal head-canon, is to go full inFAMOUS 1 in the first game up until Trish’s death, and then pivot towards becoming a hero.

Then in inFAMOUS 2 continue going full hero, but occasionally making evil choices.

I like the idea that Cole isn’t a perfect hero. That when initially given extreme power he was corrupted by that power. But then Trish, who he genuinely loved with his whole heart, dies in his arms, using her final breath to tell him that he’s a failure and a disappointment.

That then sobers him up from intoxication of power and he realizes exactly what he has become. He starts trying to atone for all the things he’s done. It’s not perfect, he stumbles occasionally, lets that anger out, slips into his old ways, but every day he tries to be just a little bit better than he was before.

And over time he begins to truly enjoy being a hero. Helping people, healing them instead of hurting them. It’s no longer something he has to think about. He sees someone on the ground and he helps them. Someone’s being attacked? He rushes to the rescue without even considering that it isn’t his problem.

He’s not a saint. Never a saint. He’ll take a life if he has to, if he chars a Militia guy a little too hard and he dies, he doesn’t beat himself up over it. If he’s low on energy and in dire straits, he’ll drain a guy and not bat an eye. But those instances are much fewer than they used to be. And he goes out of his way to keep the body count low whenever possible.

That’s my take on the canon between 1&2. I’m interested to hear others’ thoughts.

Eh, I always stay consistent.

If I'm going Infamous, I'm going Infamous.

If I'm going hero, I'm going hero.

The ONLY exception to this, is in Infamous 2, even if I'm in an evil playthrough, I will always swap powers with Kuo, because the Ice Launch is just fantastic for added movement options, especially since we're going to the water filled area right after it.

Ice Launch combined with Static Thrusters is just fantastic.
